What about this is western? Where do you think Belly Dancing was pioneered? Are most of these clothes western? If anything, they have middle eastern cum sub continental influences.

pakistan women dont wear this stuff??, we will be quite progressive if we focus rather on economy then these stupid fashion shows, these fashion shows only tell how pakistanis can sell their identity to look better in eyes of masters(US)

omg yeah fashion shows are so powerful they are really shaking the very foundations of pakistan's existence
how is it western extremism for the most part they are all modelling pakistani clothes and pakistani designers.They are not supporting anti-pakistan activities or hurting anyone or damaging the economy or forcing anyone to watch them or dress like them so quit making it a bigger issue than it is for god's sake it just a fashion show !
pakistanis have suffered alot it's nice to get your mind of depression all around you once in a while so relax and let them have a bit glamour and fun !

How old is Pakistani society? Since 1947? Well in that case, yes, skirts were very much a part of our society. So was ballroom dancing. There were/are regular galas and ballroom dances all over the country. They used to be a lot more mainstream then they might be at the moment.

Have you never seen newspaper ads from the 70s, 60s and prior advertising dance shows, floor shows etc. at premier hotels and clubs?

Are you really this naive and ill informed about the culture of your own country?

the idea is pretty western, pakistan women like to wear paijamas with the kurta, but here it look like women are not wearing payjamas at all(skirts) dont fool your self the cloths can be designed by pakistanis, like music, the idea is westernized, or western fusion, u can can google western influences in pakistani music, which is fine for me..
