Population 242M, what? Last time I checked it was 220M. Quiet disappointed in the exports/gdp. Pakistan has the potential to be easily 50B+ export market but the idiotic policies, corruption, no rule of law, security, protection for investment is harming us. I believe its treachery by our rulers. If our rulers own Sugar, leather, fertiliser, cement, wheat etc factories, will they allow someone else to open one and have competition? I highly doubt it and if someone does then they will destroy them using the state.

We need only look at the same of PIA. Even SOE aren’t safe when politicians and the elite have a conflict of interest. At this point SOE might as well be privatized so at least the nation isn’t on the hook for their debt and subsidies. Let the private companies compete with each other, and let the little tax money spent on the people go to giving them somewhat debt healthcare, education, and to help farmers so food production can keep up with population growth.

Btw, how did they determine the population is 242 Million? And if it is so, then they know where this population is located. which would mean National Assembly seats need to be reallocated based on populations of each locality; most likely lore for urban areas and less for rural areas as the nation urbanizes.

Genius, in your own source of "wikipedia" it is a 2021 GDP Estimate.

Entire devaluation of your curency has happened post 2021, thus your GDP is $ has contracted.

If it was estimated at 347 in 2021 it will be less than 300 by now.

The only thing that has increased is your population & Inflation making your GDP Per Capita further going down.

It's not the sharpest tool in the toolbox. Use your time somewhere else.

Pakistani members need to stop comparing their economy to Bangladesh. Our exports will cross $58 billion in 2022 whereas you dont have stability in your country to complete 5 year tenure of a government.

No it isn’t. And anyways dollar isn’t our currency, their GDP size doesn’t fluctuate with depreciation/appreciation of their currency. In case of other countries, they have to maintain an exchange rate wrt to dollar.

It was for year 2021-22, and its already 3 months since that FY got over, our GDP that year was $3.2 tn. $3.535 tn is 2022-23 projection.
