What's new

Pakistan was created on the basis of group nationalism and not religion

Muslims are supposed to be 'average' about everything, if you wish to avoid the current term moderate. We are the ummatul wast - the middle nation.

Well, of course that is built on some ideas right? those ideas are middle of the road, reasonable, right? What's so reasonable about not being equal before the law, for instance religious minorites are now in the Maududi and Zia ul Haq's Pakistan, unequal before the law, right?? is that the middle way??
Is it middle way to be offering sweets to murderers (Qadri)??

The Middle way is Jinnah's Pakistan, not Maudaudi and Zia ul Haq's

:) The Muslim rule by outsiders over princely states in subcontinent was driven by expansionism whereas Pakistan was created for securing say of Muslims and some future for them. the non-native invaders were not here for uplifting plight of native Muslims why they would have done that.

BTW let me study and tell you then if they had done anything for local Muslims or not.

Then what about the concept of ummah?
Did they forget that or there were no native muslims and later native people turn to Islam?

:) agreed. why to bring maudaudi who was against creation of Pakistan so surely he is bad example to follow.

zia had damaged us alot so he is an equally bad example to follow.

this ploy of rich zamindar phrase is often used by bharatis to wield their propaganda against creation of Pakistan.

give me statistics how many rich Muslims migrated to Pakistan. the neutral history says something else. millions of poor and even rich Muslims left their belongings in areas now under india, when they migrated to pakistan. many lost their properties while some cunning ones grabbed large properties here although they had left nothing back in India.

When Pakistan was created we had nothing no offices no equipments and no wealth. we started from scratches.

Please stop this propaganda, Pakistan was not created, it just got its independence in 1947, When you say pakistan is created it sounds like we didn't have any country or identity before 47 and that we are just a breakaway part of india

Muhammad Ali Jinnah's All India Muslim League Presidential Address delivered at Lahore, on March 22–23, 1940:

The Hindus and Muslims belong to two different religious philosophies, social customs, litterateurs. They neither intermarry nor interdine together and, indeed, they belong to two different civilizations which are based mainly on conflicting ideas and conceptions.

Two-Nation Theory - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ironically, Jinnah was the grandson of a Gujarati Hindu, Gokuldas Meghji Poonja. The interesting point is that, according to Jinnah, the conversion to Islam was not only a change of religion. It was a change of civilization. The old civilizational memories were sought to be purged, and a new civilization was adopted, which was in conflict with the old civilization.

You need to take alot of things into consideration. if we are not wrong most of the Muslim rulers and conquerors were in 99% of their rule in state of war.
again the point to ponder is that they dint discriminated against native Muslims as currently is being done in India

india was also created in 47 so no question of breaking away from something which never existed.

What I find interesting is that a fellow can get converted and then say "I belong to a completely different civilization from the one I belonged to yesterday".

islam was the basis of creation of pakistan every thing else is secondary

Islam was one reason. Muhammad Iqbal and Rehmat Ali proposed creation of Pakistan as only a federation of Punjab, NWFP, Sindh, Baluchistan, and Kashmir... based on their common history, geography, culture, language, race, defense, religion, and economics.

I thought this was a generally accepted fact even amongst Pakistani muslims!!

Sure, loss of assets was there for both sides, but the hindus and muslims who did not migrate did so due to economic constraints more than anything.

Regarding starting from scratches, I agree that India got most of the pre-partition national wealth, but then again, Pakistan got the fertile regions, the industries and the rivers...
