In the NZ vs Pakistan thread, I had posted names of a few truly great Pakistani batsmen who could play the 'long game': Miandad, Inzimam u Haq, Misbah ul Haq, Younis Khan. To which someone rightly suggested to add Muhammad Yousuf. Second tier to those 'long game' plays would be Mohd. Hafeez and Shoaib Malik. And that's it. Pakistan has, at least after 1970s, not produced great batsmen who could play the long game.

Babar Azam aspires to be like India's Virat Kohli but Babar doesn't have the temperament for that. Look at how he threw away his wicket against both NZ and Afghanistan???

3 matches 3 big victories for Pakistan but, Hafeez, Shahdab Khan & Hasan Ali not performing, 3 matches Hasan Ali going for so many runs. Asif Ali & Shoaib Malik can't keep winning matches for Pakistan.

How long Pakistan Team management going to have faith with them as all teams are strategizing and bringing in new tactics to deal with Pakistan better ?

Hafeez has been bowling well and the pitches during this WC really suits him, and he should be included in the remaining games but only as a bowler with whatever he can hit to be purely a bonus. Malik, Asif, Imad, Shadab and Hasan should all bat ahead of him in the remaining games, especially if we are batting first.

We have the next two relatively easy games to tinker the lineup like this so I hope they utilize it and see the benefit.
