Pakistan, Turkey Agree To Augment Military Cooperation

A Pakistani engineer will reject the low salary offers coming from defense Orgs of Pakistan. The west keeps the cream to itself.
Ironically, Turkey is taking some steps top stop brain drain of its technical capital to Europe (ASML is one example) without offering European salaries.

Pakistan should along with drones and other stuff should corporate with Turkey in making of small arms and having its own future soldier program. We need to equip our infantry which is in real need of getting upgraded. @PanzerKiel

Defense industry is a subset of overall industrialization and indignation of Industry as a whole
i.e
Manufacturing, Production, Assembling, Testing, R&D, Metal Casting, Plastics Processing / Extrusion , Electronics, AI , Computers & accreditation.

Its also a function of Vision & Policy -

You can either Prefer Crude assembles [First Crawl then Walk] and invest in 'em

OR import based SROs.

Academia converges to the needs of Local industry and produces Engineers / Technicians taught / mentored . coached by Visiting faculties of seasoned professionals who Have Been there - Done that.

In a country where Democratic systems have taken a back Seat to Military in overall terms - the same reflection goes all around the society.

Trainee Engineers at BE level taught by Academic teachers of most universities get employment at few thousand rupees per month just to see engineering in practice,
rather than whats being taught by Books which are essentially 3 decades old.

Hence most of 'em choose to switch careers after BE to MBA or to Computer Systems [SAP / Oracle etc] or apply for jobs / future studies in foreign countries.

Reality Bites.

Sorry to digress a bit.

Also include small arms like assault rifles, hand guns, machine guns and sniper rifles and night vision, thermal sights, helmets, BP vests, red dot sights and other such equipment for infantry soldier.

These last few posts are fun. Above is exactly what Turkey is trying to do. The TAI NESCOM collab I told you about and what our side wanted from it.

Yes. But that is more a function of their culture and not their salary. Their salary with the perks is almost decent. None of my friends left because they were loving the job but the pay was too low. They all left because it was a black hole for any growth except chaploosi.

Great idea :)

Funny you should namedrop Samar. His son (current chairman NESCOM likely due to the said cult) is an avid believer in the Turkish model and actively trying to import it (in collaboration with a few AWC management). That project has been stalled this year but it is the one I am most excited about for obvious reasons. Some good might come of this cult still.
Good family - to me that is the reason but I have personal bias there.

I haven't had personal interactions but second hand accounts mirror your opinion. This gives me hope.
