Pakistan tour of England 2016-News and Discussions

Forget about it, it was a very painful experience. Did Butler need to hit them so hard? We need to get rid of Senior players, get some new players. Get a few power hitters.
Not some new players dear, the whole batting lines need to be changed as i mentioned, these are infected now and it wont be possible to change there mind. It started in Misbah era and continues through Azhar! WE can look for a new player who can accumulate runs like Misbah, Younis, Inzi but should do so from the new lot. Keeping anyone from here will infected those new ones as well. We saw that happen to Shehzad, we will see that with Sharjeel soon as well. We need to get rid of that chant of "arram sa" and "sukoon say"!! If anyone of these remain he will do the same to the incoming lot!

And where are the people who were complaining about Misbah and Afridi?
EXCLLENT question.
I hope Afridi get a few more matches and get those two wickets i so dearly want him to get!!

Exactly my thoughts brother!
You only realize value of someone after he/she is not there.

Its a rebuilding process for team but yes team desperately needs an experienced guy (preferably an all rounder) and another spinner. Most teams have gone through this phase and when you have to play against a settled side, such matches would come once in while.

Isnt that we have been doing for last 10 years, new batting line in every other game

Actually no! We have been keep one or two infected players and the mind set and approach to the game have never changed for last 2 3 years now. This is what needs to be addressed and as i said that will mean sacrificing a few good players too,

Actually my opinion is its not the players but the management, which is too controlling and does not like the new players to play their natural game. they make a spot in the team based of their performance in national cricket but as soon as they play for the national team they become dull, they look nervous while playing. I mean how is it possible to have so many bad player selected for last 10 years. "one game, you fail you are out" attitude wont give them confidence, where ji-huzoori wins you a spot in next game not the performance.

mmmmmmmmm ok kick them out as well then. Just do not keep the cancer cells as the same problem will start again. WE have seen some good players being infected with the same "Sukoon Sa" virus while the game have gone absolutely mad.

I see the English one day side has evolved a lot from the 2015 world cup. They have made 400 plus score twice in a year now.
They have changed their old tactics of playing Broad, Anderson and bell(where is he these days) only in the big tournaments else rest them aside as the test match specialists. That didn't helped them at all.
Now they have a dedicated one day side with a specialist shorter over format captain(Morgan). Plus some big hitters/all rounders definitely creates a well balanced team. Things are looking bright for them for the 2019 ODI world cup(which is in england).

Well played England and tough luck to Pakistan.

what happened to English green wickets, that what I heard all my life that English green wickets helps fast/swing bowlers. in this series their wickets are duller than sub-continent wickets.

That's for the test matches. Nobody wants a green top wicket helping only bowlers in the shorter formats(not much action). Plus Pakistan has a formidable pace attack in this tour of England, so why risks when they knows that the Pakistani batting lineup tend to collapse under the pressure of chasing down a high total.
If you really want to have a knack of green top wicket in England take a look at this pitch of the India's tour of England 2014 - 2nd test match at lords.

A thing of beauty for the fast bowlers, isn't it? BTW we won that match.

well test wickets werent any better either but not as dead as the last oneday wicket

The first test match wicket was pretty dull but the Pakistani bowlers specifically spinners make out the most of it. Hence the second test match wicket was a bit damp. Rest I didn't followed the whole series.

well in the past they still made fast wickets even when we had likes of Wasim and Waqar. Seems like we brought Goras to our Cricket aur hum apni Cricket bhool gya dead wicket wali

Well during Wasim and Waqar England used to play more traditional line of cricket, that's why the Aussies beat the hell out of them in every ashes series. They have learned a lot after that.
Pakistan used to have lavish green top wickets too earlier, then they slowly changed to a typical subcontinent flat deck(one day).

Worlds so called best bowling attack got tonked so hard, it's a world record. Amir the messiah could not prevent the carnage and humiliation for the mediocre Pak ODi side. Wahab Riaz going dor 110-10, don't think even any associate team bowler will go this bad, nor will any associate team concede 444.
