What's new

Pakistan to manufacture Ada class corvettes and T-129 helicopters locally.

.
Can anybody here please list out the number of helicopters required by Pakistan's all three forces in all categories(attack, light etc.)...and how many Pakistan has currently in possession???
It will be greatly appreciated.
Attack helicopters will be required only by PAA since our marines are not that big of a force and are not an expeditionary force any way! The requirement of a new helicopter should stand around 40-60 bird at minimum, this is OTHER than the Cobras we are operating or we are going to get this year and the next.
One other force using multipurpose attack helicopters like Mi-35 can be the FC for border area. The same will also be much beneficial for PAA in COIN operation with insertion, fire support and quick extraction roles. 18-20 of these will be enough overall at max.

.
And may be even try to go for systems that have common parts. Like !
Similarly the Cobra gun ships share the main rotor and shaft with medium lift helicopters of Huey family.
The Turkish T129 which is actually based on A129 was originally based on another medium size utility helicopter.

In short, in addition to restricting the number of different platforms in operation we can also opt for ones with parts commonality with other platforms. This is what i am trying to say here:

What do you think sir?
the options for helicopters are their from a long time but someone needs to sit down with not just the all three branches of military..you have to add paramilitary forces the police and the civilian government as well because they need helicopters too and every single one of them are going for different helicopters which is the most stupid thing to do.
i did had a discussion with a senior member bilal khan (quwa) few weeks back about South African Rooivalk Attack Helicopter and Atlas Oryx Medium sized utility helicopter both have similar parts, both being based on Aerospatiale SA 330 PUMA easy to use and will save country a lot of money and you can easily get manufacturing rights from airbus and south Africa as both airbus and south africa are looking for partnership in these helicopters .
all you need is to open a combine tender for attack, medium and light helicopters to be manufactured in Pakistan can it be done yes it can be done but for that you need people who are loyal to Pakistan and who have got strong will power which these days our top military and civilian brass lack because both have got price tag of 10%.

There's also IAR 330 SOCAT, which probably has even more commonality..

you can do so much with the airbus h215m and h225m option plus it has got a naval version as well so basically one helicopters covers a lot of your military and civilian requirement .
buying the Russian mi 35 was just plain stupid

The Eurocopter you talk about is not a dedicated gunship but primarily a military transport chopper with secondary attack capabilities. Plus being European it comes at a very heavy price. The Mi-35 is top of the line for the purpose for which it was designed. It also shares commonalities with the MI-17 and is a very rugged machine that will be much easier to maintain than its European counterparts.

my friend we already use super puma helicopters and when we are talking about European option we are not just including the transport helicopters we are walkabout 2nd heavy attack option from south Africa Denel Rooivalk too which uses a lot of similar parts so you kill 2 fish with one spear you get both helicopters with TOT.

mi 17 and mi 35 are good noo doubt about it but they dont come with TOT
