Pakistan snubs Cameron visit

Just because some regions were part of an empire once upon a time does not make them a nation, otherwise history has seen several empires governing the same territories - why cherry pick just the ones that support a mythical 'Akhand Bharat'?

Agree with your point except the Akhand Bharat part.

Akhand Bharat is traditional Indian cultural sphere of influence.

"Akhand Bharat"!! where did I say such??

Yes I agree with your above but might ask what makes Pakistan(or for that matter any other country) a nation now, than it did then??
I mean Pakistan and Bangladesh, were a one nation once and now since they are separated, they were never one nation? :disagree:

No, India should have accepted the creation of Pakistan

"Accept the creation of Pakistan" This term is often used by pakistanis, is a manifestation of their insecurity viz-a-vis India.

What does it even mean?
ie.
Pakistan does not recognize Israel, now that is a sign on non-acceptance of country's existence or claiming it is an illegal country. on the other hand India recognized pakistan from day one.
In fact creation of pakistan, would have not been possible, If Congress leadership had not finally come on board(even though reluctantly).

and allowed the people of J&k to exercise their promised right to plebiscite to determine which nation they wished to be a part of.

Now I can counter that by saying you should not have invaded kashmir in first place, but then its is a circular argument.

The creation of Pakistan was not the issue, the attitude of India, especially in terms of continuing occupation and subjugation of J&K and not truly accepting Pakistan, was and has been the issue.

Sitting on this side of the fence, it seems Pakistan's obsession with kashmir and its habit of "boxing, above its weight category" is the issue..but then its only perspective.

But you fail to see, where it all these issues begin..that is with Partition of India.

And I, and other Pakistanis contend that there was no partition, two entities were given independence by a third, which was the British Empire - that is the reality.

Though it is just semantics because nothing will change but care to explain how was Pakistan a separate entity under British Rule??? There was only one entity called India and by the virtue of partition a new entity called Pakistan was carved out of the existing one....This new entity later further broke into two separate enitity called Pakistan(then west Pakistan) and Bangladesh(then East Pakistan)

We achieved Independence from the British Empire, and the land area that consists of Pakistan has its own unique history that goes back thousands of years. :)

Ohh comon mate....how does that make Pakistan a separate entity??? as far as your unique history is concerned than I am sorry that's not true....Anyhow as said these are just semantics so use whatever you feel like

I mean that the Areas that constitute Modern Pakistan have throughout the ages been largely independent of bharat - which modern india is based upon. :)

I think our eastern neighbours have an idealogical opposition to the history of the people of the Indus, which I find totally illogical.

We do not wish to claim any part of the ganges based bharat, which we acknowledge is the exclusive heritage of modern india.

As unpopular as you may think David Cameron is in the UK, he is a hell of a lot more popular than Gordon Brown. IMHO the best prime minister of the UK in recent times was Tony Blair although he is often remembered for the wrong things...

Barring the regions to the extreme south, the present day Pakistan and present day India have historically been the part of the same empires. Though they may different local rulers(whose territories were constantly changing) but they all swore allegiance to the same emperor.

What can I say, you wanted this partition, more than us..you should thought of the consequences of such a bloody partition.

Only an Indian would accept this as a valid argument.

.
dont blame the Bhartis they have a genuine grievance for loosing a large chunk of Indian Sub continent that became Pakistan...
they have come to terms with Pakistan more than the British..

these cunning rascals are the most deceiving, two faced and grudging people you will come across.. they never ever accepted Pakistan's creation as it was not in their grand plans..
although their past glory is .. well a thing of a past but they try to copy their bigger cousins across the atlantic and try to talk big here and there.. not sparing a chance to give their dismissive comments about Pakistan but honestly.. no one gives a flying toss to what their prime ministers have to say.

Strange, uncalled for & unusual verbiage from a Think Tank.

The subject is the Brit PM and a ' snub' ( a word S Asian media loves to use) and instead of moderating a discussion thats drifting we have a think tank extolling the ' virtues' of Indians !

@ the subject, it would also have been prudent for GOP to refuse or return some or all of the aid it gets from UK to show its resentment. what say ?

Look up the meaning of the word prudent before you brandish it in this context. The phrase that fits your sentence above is "childish and stupid".

By this coin, India should have immediately left all international organizations that ever criticized it. And should have given back all the aid accrued since 1947 from any country whose leader ever chastised it. Before giving us suggestions, I would recommend you practice what you preach.

Cheap, Low blow...

between the UK and PAK... You are? If the UK are so offended why don't they withdraw the aid????

You have no IDEA what they get in return for the pittance the offer us so please keep your infinite wisdom to yourself.

Good Day!
