I'm not saying that the sale is false (we don't know yet) but that the various media accounts are essentially running with the original uncorroborated claims attributed to Hamid Mir. You can't consider them credible, independent sources.

Increasing spares available, when customer customises for them, you ll get more weapon integration ..

Total income generated can help buy AESA etc

yep there was some news here as well about several defence agreements.

Good news for both China and Pakistan and ofcourse Srilanka obtaining a high potential product.further sales will support and mature the platform as small and compact design allows it to be stealthier and ecm will improve.many countries will be able to improve their airforce without f15 su35 type heavies or expensive f16s or second hands.India if threatening Srilanka is counter productive hurting both Pakistani and Chinese interests and bad tradesmanship after all limiting the customers from high potential good product.Others should offer something similarly good and compete fairly.Initial sales are important and China would possibly make trade deals with Srilanka which would compensate losses after any more İndian move.After the deal is certain only usa can put some brick on the road but i doubt they can offer something that can fill the advantages of Jf17.

According to Geo News Pakistan has signed the deal with Sri Lanka to supply them 8 JF-17. This news is reported by Hamid Mir who us travelling with PM Nawaz Shareef on his visit to Sri Lanka.

Total 8 Agreements signed:
Following are the MoUs signed between the two countries;

1. MoU between the Ministry of Science, Technology and Research of Sri Lanka and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Research of Pakistan on Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation.

2. MoU for Scientific and Technological Cooperation between the National Science Foundation (NSF) of Sri Lanka and Pakistan Science Foundation.

3. Agreement on Cooperation in the field of health between the governments of Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

4. MoU between the Financial Intelligence Unit of Sri Lanka and Financial Monitoring Unit of Pakistan on the cooperation in the exchange of financial intelligence related to money laundering and terrorism financing.

5. MoU between the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development and Cultural Affairs of Sri Lanka and Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage of Pakistan on cultural cooperation.

6. MoU between the Export Development Board (EDB) and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) regarding trade cooperation.

7. MoU on sharing of statistical census data between the Department of Census and Statistics of Sri Lanka and the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

8. MoU on cooperation between the Gem and Jewelry Research and Training Institute of Sri Lanka and Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design.
