What's new

Pakistan should be closer friend to Russia if Pakistanis appove Russia's reemergence!

I would choose The United states as the superpower any day of the week compared to Russia. Its easy for people to just criticize everything the US does without looking at the Contributions a capitalist country like the US has given to the world as well.

Computers, Internet, Windows, Photo-shop, Telephones, Televisions, Radio, Refrigerator, Skyskcrapers, electric motors, calculators, air conditioners, NASA, Airplanes, photocopiers and a Million other things...

Many of those inventions were not even American

Communism Sucks BIG TIME.... i'd rather live in a Capitalist country than a socialist welfare state... Good luck with Russia

Do you keep up with current affairs? Russia is not communist and why do you have do put down China like that? I though they were your greatest ally. If communism sucks than China sucks...according to you.

Russia is a noble and trustworthy friend.

They are also tough as nails, look at what they did to the Nazi Army in WW2.

The lesson is, don't piss off the Russians. Better to have them on your side.

Russia can't be trusted. The Russians are still angry at Pakistan for destroying their Soviet empire. Soviet or no Soviet, the Russians will always side with india. Many Pakistanis believe that Russia is supporting the BLA terrorist group in Pakistan's Balochistan province.

"Sherni ka balatkar hua aur chuha pareshan"...LOL!
(Its a sayingpeople.... dont freak out)

Please dont attribute victories to yourself....or overestimate your role in the fall of the Soviets!

I hardly think the Soviets care much for Pakistan's role in the Afghan war.....else your JF-17 wouldnt be flying currently....
Russian distance to Pak is an element of their closeness to India.....

 this is too funny, have you ever read a book about the subject? Gorbachev and millions of protesting Russians had nothing to do with it? Or people like my father which had a small hand in it too?

Now answer me this how does Russia survive a Nazi onslaught where tens of millions of Russians died and countless cities where reduced to ashes but somehow Pakistan 'destroyed' the Soviet Union even though militarily Russia suffered little, something like 8000 actual KIA.

That is where Nazi Germany was truly defeated, and the point at which the tide of the war turned.

Biggest turning points of WW2: Battle of Stalingrad and the Battle of Moscow.

Even if people don't like Russia, you've got to respect their power.

was very impressed with the performance of the soviet army in afghanistan. 10000 total losses vs. 1 million, a 1:100 kill ratio, compared with the US's horrible losses in vietnam. soviet pilots also did way better than US ones, especially considering they were flying mostly helicopters and the US pilots were flying fighter bombers and still got shot down way more.

Russians killed lots of innocent ! the march back home by the russians was truely shameful! begging mujahideen for a peaceful return?

The americans were fighting in tropical forest! scenerios like hamburger hill or valley of death etc are examples of american bravery!

Bombers had no effect!! viet congs were like monkeys.
And we know who was supporting the viet cong!

Chinese and the russians.... even then compare the dead vietnamese!

It takes sometime to get adjusted to reality, so some people exaggerate their presence in geo-politics.

Don't take them too seriously who think that they "destroyed" Soviet Union. Reality will ultimately dawn them.

Dude, what were the Russian soldiers supposed to do? The Mujahideen of that time like the Taliban and AL Qaeda of today used people as human shields or even had some passive supporters who would mutilate Russian soldiers and send them in pieces. Most of Soviet soldiers were young men barely 20 years old and in due to conscription. Naturally, they'd be having some sort of nervousness after seeing such horrible mutilated forms of their once friends.

So they adopted ruthless wiping out. In a war, it is total chaos and obviously it was difficult to distinguish civilians from Mujahideen since all wore the same clothes. USSR forces were trained to fight well in plains of Europe against NATO forces but the mountainous and inhospitable surrounding in Afghanistan caught them by surprise.

Had they contemplated using the infamous "scorch earth" policy and simply sending Afghanistan to stone age, it would have been a different story today.

Don't be ridiculous. Stop excusing atrocities against civilians. You are projecting your views about JK on to a conflict that India had nothing to do with to excuse your own government's behaviour.

Oh look who's talking about atrocities!!. Yeah we're the ones doing all sorts of nonsense in our state Kashmir while you've been white dressed angels in Xingjiang and Tibet right?

Puhleeese.. spare me this argument. Afghan war saw atrocities on both sides. The Mujahideen weren't crowning captured POW Soviet soldiers either. According to Geneva Convention, a POW is supposed to be treated with decency; not cut into a dozen pieces and get his head sliced off.

USSR foot soldiers did what was essential for their own survival on the battlefield. One cannot clap with single hand. If USSR were aggressive, Mujahideen were no angels.

Time to steal Russia away :victory: Go Pakistan
I am honestly asking here without any sarcasm or taunt... what are you going to "steal" Russia away with? This is not a one-liner; I really want to know your opinion.
