Just round up 100,000 afghan refugees on Afpak border and push them into Afghanistan,now Government of Afghanistan will be responsible to give them food,shelter and jobs...
Which wont be that easy,and bring instability for Afghanistan.
That will disrupt USA's Multi billion dollar opium trade from Afghanistan.
So a sanction on Pakistan can and will bring substancial losses to USA directly.

Pakistan can do it too, if your leaders are willing to go against the USA.

i dont think so. china and india went against u.s in not just iran issue but on multiple issues like palestina,internet reforms,decision to dump dollar etc but i dnt think pakistan donot have that luxory atleast for now..given their economic situation,internal troubles and political instability they can not afford to go against the u.s..besides at this juncture when u.s has intensified the with drawl of their troops pakistan must maintain a good relation with the u.s

Wasn't you guys banking on those same Afghan Pashtuns as a deterrent against India few years from now? Any such step will encourage the hope for Pashtunistan by the same population.
