What's new

Pakistan renames Kashmir Highway as Srinagar Highway ahead of Youm-e-Istehsal

.
Dont see any usefulness of this. At max its just a political gimmick by PTI govt which is losing support by the day. Also would waste a lot of money in changing signs and addresses. Expect such dumb gimmicks when dumb leaders like IK is PM.

.
How about change name of Islamabad to Kashmir and be done with it? lol

Seriously, i want to know who is behind such idea's?

. . . .
The name Srinagar is derived from the conjoining of the two words in Sanskrit, “Sri” implying 'Lakshmi' and “Nagar” implying 'city' meaning the City of Goddess Laxmi (Hindu Goddess of wealth and fortune). Thank God they renamed a highway and not a city as Srinagar or else India would have started claiming it as its territory.

. .
Next year it will be either changed back to Kashmir highway or something different. just a gimmick to please local audience.
better to rename the roads on local leaders name who done something for the society and people to remember the person.....

many cities of Pakistan have similar names,
I think Lahore was also derived the same way, I am not sure though. Layallpur (Now Faisalabad) is another example.

Indians invent alot of these false stories to Hinduize everything. It is better to do our own research to verify facts.
