many cities of Pakistan have similar names,The name Srinagar is derived from the conjoining of the two words in Sanskrit, “Sri” implying 'Lakshmi' and “Nagar” implying 'city' meaning the City of Goddess Laxmi (Hindu Goddess of wealth and fortune). Thank God they renamed a highway and not a city as Srinagar or else India would have started claiming it as its territory.

I think Lahore was also derived the same way, I am not sure though. Layallpur (Now Faisalabad) is another example.
