Pakistan officially inducts HQ 9 Air Defence system

Lahore is symbolic but doesn’t stop Pakistan’s war effort from moving forward. Just because PML(N) decided to make Lahore their entire focus doesn’t mean its advanced infrastructure or food scene have actual contributions to ensuring men & material can be thrown into the defense of the country.
Karachi can be bombarded all over but that is where it needs to be protected due to it providing the lifeline to the Sea and the facilities at SITE,KPT and Port Qasim.

Everything you have provided in Lahore’s defense is purely symbolic and nothing more. Lahore can be leveled to the ground but if the port facilities near Karachi(and Gwadar) keep functioning the rest of the country will continue to operate. Lose the ports and then you can happily go to wagah and twist your mooch on a donkey because no fuel is coming in to run your vehicles.
Sir six squadrons of PAF fighter jets already station inside and around Karachi. How much more want to place there.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) visited Army Air Defence Centre Karachi today . On arrival COAS laid floral wreath at Shahuada monument.

According to ISPR, COAS witnessed commissioning of state of the art Chinese origin HQ-9/P HIMADS (High to Medium Air Defence System) into Pakistan Army Air Defence. Lieutenant General Hamood uz Zaman Khan; Commander Army Air Defence Command briefed COAS about strategic weapon system.

Induction of HIMADS will significantly enhance Comprehensive Layered Integrated Air Defence (CLIAD) shield of aerial frontiers of Pakistan as the system is fully integrated through a well-knit Digitised System on its inventory. Capable of intercepting multiple air targets including aircrafts, cruise missiles and Beyond Visual Range Weapons at ranges over 100 kilometres with Single Shot Kill Probability, HQ-9/P is considered as a strategic long range Surface to Air Missile (SAM) with remarkable flexibility and precision.

Speaking at the occasion, COAS said that induction of high-tech systems will make Pakistan’s air defence impenetrable in the emerging threat scenario. Highlighting the criticality of air defence in the overall defence of motherland, COAS said exemplary synergy between Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Army Air Defence makes country’s air defence impregnable. Pakistan–China strategic partnership and defence collaboration is a factor of stability in the region, COAS remarked.

Senior officials from China were also present on the occasion, the ISPR added.

Some Indian news sources are claiming that this system is a copy of S-300. Is this true?

False. They are just coping. As they always do.
This thing is much superior to S300 and it’s sensory even surpasses that of S400. However S400 had better missiles and hence longer ranges.
Yes it was copied from S 300 but now very improved from S-300. It's way ahead when compared to S-300.
It’s original design was indeed based on an S300, but the S300 isn’t really winning any design awards, it’s just a launcher and missile tubes, the tech in it is all Chinese. Indians just use “omg copy” as a way of downplaying the purchases.

.
I find it incredible that all we heard four years ago that the army will purchase a system and then there was radio silence for ages. Suddenly the system is here. I wonder what else is being kept hush.
Yes it was copied from S 300 but now very improved from S-300. It's way ahead when compared to S-300.

It also has a fair bit in common with the Patriot, it's actually a beefed up S-300/Patriot hybrid.

NO,Some technologies of S300 are used for reference but HQ-9 is not a copy of S300.basicly, the size of HQ9/9B missile is much smaller and lighter than 48N6E2(S300MPU2),and HQ-9 was developed from the very beginning to be using active radar seeker with 2-way datalink, while S-300 and Patriot started with track-via-missile (TVM), a combination of semi-active radar homing (SARH) and radio command guidance.
