Pakistan offers insurance worth $2 mn to foreign cricketers

Just to put the salts on Indian wounds , around 27 international players have signed up , the contracts are being finalized & will be completed in mid Feb .

And Seriously , Indians ? instead of saying best of Luck to Pakistan , you are Plainly refusing to admit that Pakistan could launch a successful league , Most of the Indians i expected it from , but Some ( who I actually Thought ) were mature posters , are now getting their hands dirty as well .

If you don't want to discuss a series played in your on country then I don't know where is the logic in it. By the way in both the tournaments that you are talking about we successfully qualified forward despite losing one match to you. In fact we won the Asia cup too. While you lost to a minnow and were kicked out. Same in T20WC. Again you failed to qualify for the next round.

When someone pointed out of India winning WC, u said India lost to Pak in the series. When highlighted results of India's tour of Pak in 2004, u said that's history. When reminded of Indo-Pak results in recent history(read last 12 months), u said those were random games. Now u say what mattered in those tournaments was Pak moved forward. If that was the case for u then why u countered 'India winning the WC' point earlier at all ? In the end u urself pointed out something in a direction which u objected to earlier

That is the problem with you Indians. Asking being logical is too much for you guys. It is beyond your level. You want to discuss 2004 but forget 2005 where you lost 6 matches ODI series 2-4. You want to discuss a few random matches where you ended up losing to a minnow and were kicked out of the tournament. But don't want to discuss the latest series. You don't want to play anymore series too after that. LOC skirmish comes as the lame excuse here. The point is that we had only one official ODI series played in past few years and we have won that series. Period. Live with it. :)

abey yaar PCB is making a fool out of themselves (seriously), if you offer someone high insurance than that means there is great security risk, now even those players who wanted to come will think again.

Absolutely correct. Players want $2 million salary not $2 million insurance. The fact that such high insurance is being offered is indicative of the risk factor involved.

Na we would like to live with with WCs we won by kicking a team playing 'random' games one in Final and other time in a S/F of world cups ;). Not to forget getting to no.1 rank in different formats on regular basis.

Actually what Pak should have ideally done is to launch league and play with guys who readily agree to be part of the tournament. You would have got recently retired players in ur league anyhow. But, what Ashraf and PCB officials r doings by these announcement is giving a display of their desperation which is making others laugh if not ridicule. Organize a quality league and people will automatically start to pour in if not in 1st then definitely in 2nd season.

And we will live with beating you 71 times just in ODI's. 71 times and counting. :D

Yaar I was having fun chat with @Areesh. It was casual rivalry between an Indian and Pakistani. Sorry if it offended you or anyone.

sir more salt is needed

The PCB has confirmed the inclusion of former ICC match referee Mike Procter and former elite panel umpires Russell Tiffin and Rudi Koertzen for the upcoming Pakistan Super League, a Twenty20 tournament starting on March 25.

"Apart from Aleem Dar and Asad Rauf [who are from Pakistan], three other esteemed international match officials have confirmed their participation," the PCB said in a statement. "In addition, preparation is proceeding apace in all other aspects and the team is well on track with its plans for broadcasters and sponsorship."

Although the PCB hasn't named the foreign players to take part in the event, the addition of the three match officials is a notable scoop, after FICA's advice to players not to travel to Pakistan because of security concerns.

Procter, who stood down as an ICC match referee in 2008 to become Cricket South Africa's convener of selectors, last visited Pakistan in June that year to officiate the Asia Cup matches.

"I am delighted to announce that I have agreed to be one of the Match Referees in the upcoming Pakistan Super League," Procter was quoted as saying by PCB. "I was approached by the PSL management team and after due consideration, I am looking forward to being a part of this exciting event in Pakistan.

"It is unfortunate that Pakistan and its fans do not currently enjoy their beloved international cricket stars at home and this cannot remain so. I am willing to get involved, and to help change perceptions about cricket being played in Pakistan."

Tiffin, a Zimbabwean umpire, was part of ICC's elite panel of umpires from 1995, and his last assignment in the country was to officiate Bangladesh's tour of Pakistan in 2003. "I have been to Pakistan before on cricketing assignments and I am keen to take part in the PSL," Tiffin said. "With the talent we know that exists in Pakistan, I am sure this competition will be quite a spectacle and I cannot wait to be a part of it.

"I know about the challenges that Pakistan cricket faces and I know from my own experiences at home how perceptions can cloud the realities. I am confident that the PCB can deliver a safe and secure event."

Tiffin last officiated an international match in 2009, and since then has been engaged with ICC tournaments featuring associate teams.

The other umpire Koertzen stood in 209 ODIs, a record, and in 108 Tests before retiring in 2010. On accepting the offer, he said: "We all know that Pakistan is going through a trying phase and we in the cricket family need to do what we can to help. It remains a very vibrant cricketing nation that always impresses us with its resilience. I have never had any problem umpiring in Pakistan, and I am actually looking forward to go over and catch up with old friends."

Sir I admit we were trolling but I would like to say that, don't take it as defense or an excuse for our unprofessional behaviour, same was happening by mature posters on thread of ICC ODI 1 ranking of India.

I apologize for trolling, BTW.
