Pakistan has no plan to play the role of a mediator between Saudi Arabia and Iran as the visit of President Asif Ali Zardari to Tehran has more bilateral connotations than regional or even broader.

Two federal ministers dealing with the petroleum & natural resources and water and power accompanied the president on the single day trip to Tehran. It indicates that the discussion focused on the cooperation in the field of energy and no high-up from the Foreign Office except for the chief of the protocol accompanied President Zardari.

Iran and Saudi Arabia have diplomatic ties, and if they find any difficulty, they easily could resolve it through diplomatic channels. The Organisation of Islamic Conference is also available to both brotherly countries as both countries are the members of it.:woot:

Sources said the meeting of President Zardari with the Saudi ambassador to Pakistan on Friday has nothing to do with the visit of the president to Iran. It was a scheduled meeting and they exchanged views on the issues of mutual interest. The Saudi envoy informed the president about the projects being undertaken by the Saudi government for the calamity-hit people in various parts of Pakistan. The relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran were not discussed, sources added.

Good Work by Pakistan. Let the Stupid Arabs and Iranians fight, Pakistan must only look after it's interest.

Pakistan is actually working very hard to improve ties with Iran.
