IMHO mini carriers and VTOL are an unnecessary cost driver and complexity. If Pakistan wants to acquire a sea-based air warfare capability, then it should order a CATOBAR carrier from China (especially at a time when the Chinese mass produce one standard design) and foot a naval version of Project Azm around it.

Such videos are childish. You guys like it or not but the way PN stands, it is a small coastal navy. How can a small coastal navy defend against a Blue Water navy IN? Obviously all these new purchases will help, but PN really needs good frigates and destroyers in large numbers.

This is going irrelevant. What you mentioned are national needs or issue and must be resolved. But this thread is about Pak Navy

IN will not have leverage it enjoy since long, not PN will go after IN assets far from Pakistan putting pressure on IN to deploy safety assets which will deplete its attack capacity while PN is expanding so they will have better Area Denial capacity compared to past.

India is not a throughbred blue water navy, think of it as light brown water navy.... lets not kid ourselves here, they are bigger than PN but they lack the logistics to operate away from their shores for any real period of time.. beyond showcase training missions etc.

Liaoning is mini carrier and VTOL is very expensive to buy and operate and from whom Pakistan can buy VTOL aircrafts??

Liaoning with M-35Ks will be good start, initially it can be assigned fleet protection role.

Pakistan needs LRSAM on frigates.

MR / SRSAM may come from MBDA as its CEO have met with CNS and Aster-15/30 & CAMM/CAMM-ER and many products they can offer for our stealth ships coming from Turkey which could make them very potent, hope we get Aster-30NT to have some ABM capabilities along with FD-2000.

I'm guessing, the Chinese navy will continue the operation of only CATOBAR aircrafts after 15 years. It's hard to say anything for Type 001A, but I don't think Type 001 will stay in service for too long. This ship may be of interest to the Pakistani navy in the future.

Objective of the Navy in Pakistan - India context is to defend its shipping lines.

Dare I say, Pakistan can easily choke Indian fuel supplies coming out of Mid-east and there is not much Indian can do about it. The blockade of Pakistan by IN is a wet dream and nothing else.

Pakistan has combination of weapons to deal with any attempt. This include surface and sub surface ships, land based ASHM, Fighter jets and Missile boats.

The fact that whole Indian navy was running around like headless choke to trace a single Pakistani sub for over two weeks. It speaks volume of what will happen to them.
