Pakistan Navy P-3C Orion Thread

how will the US make sure they will not be used against india ??

same thing is being said about f-16s.

i think that the US says this only to assuage indian fears .

of course ,they will be used against india .

How will the US make sure that what ever military hard ware US is selling to India, India is not going to use it against Pakistan.
But then of course India will use it against Pakistan. Like they always have.

Express news reported that US Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen will soon be visiting Pakistan and offer these planes for free and Us is also provide f 16 parts . Any confirmation?????????????????

US has decided to supply two P3C Orion aircraft to Pakistan to replace the aircraft that were destroyed in the PNS Mehran attack on May 22nd.

According to sources, the US will also be supplying F-16 aircraft and its spare parts.

Moreover, it is also expected that the chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen will soon be visiting Pakistan to convey US President Barrack Obama’s message, sources added.

Official sources had earlier told that the destruction of the two four-engine all-weather P3C Orion aircraft would temporarily affect the Pakistan Navy’s counter-terrorism and surface and underwater reconnaissance operations.

The aircraft is designed for surface and underwater reconnaissance and anti-submarine and anti-surface vessel operations. It is rated as the fastest turbo-prop long-range maritime patrol (LRMP) platform used worldwide and is also called the airborne destroyer.

The aircraft is 116 feet long and has a maximum speed of 410 knots. Its distinguishing features are long endurance, multiple role capability, variety of integrated sensors and above all the capacity to carry a wide array of anti-surface and subsurface weapons such as harpoon, torpedoes, depth charges, mines and rockets. It can fly a mission of at least 18 hours.

Is Pakistan going to pay for them? Or are they part of the US aid? Because frankly speaking, I can't think of a situation when P3C Orions will be required to fight terrorists

Is everything provided by US is for fighting the militants ???

Can't you guys come up with something new ??? The same old comments.

How many times do we have to tell that we get things from the US which are sometimes militants specific, sometimes India specific and sometimes can be used for both purposes.

Why you Indians have the thinking that whatever we get from US is not gonna be used to defend Pakistan from anyone who has aggressive designs ??

Don't need P3C for fighting terrorists. We just want to get it for our defence. Moreover we lost P3C as a result of a terrorist attack; This reason should be enough for U.S to provide us with new P3C. .

You have your Army to make sure that, it's not any job of others.

Islamabad: The US will replace two P-3C Orion maritime surveillance planes of the Pakistan Navy that were destroyed in a terrorist attack on a naval airbase in Karachi last month, according to a media report today.

The US has confirmed that it will replace the aircraft; diplomatic sources were quoted as saying by the Dawn newspaper.

The American-made aircraft, each worth over US $30 million, were destroyed when a group of heavily armed militants stormed the PNS Mehran airbase in Karachi on May 22.

Ten security personnel were killed in the attack before four of the attackers were gunned down or blew themselves up.

Under an agreement, the US is set to supply nine P-3C Orion aircraft to Pakistan to enhance its surveillance capabilities. Pakistan had received five aircraft so far, of which two were destroyed in the recent attack.

Four more are currently being upgraded in the US before their transfer to Pakistan. The US ostensibly provided the aircraft to boost Pakistan's capabilities to keep a watch on terrorist activities along its coastline.

Experts say the Orions play a crucial role in the Pakistan Navy's efforts to monitor the movements of Indian warships in regional waters.

Congrats PAKISTAN!!!!!
