Pakistan in talks for 4 Ada Class Corvettes, T-129 Helicopters & modernization of agosta fleet

Looks heck of a lot better in model form, is this what Pakistan is signing up for ?
I hope so ... with MR-SAM (e.g. Umkhonto EIR) 4 of these along with the 4 F-22Ps already in service (and also upgraded with MR-SAM and phased-array radar) would be fine complements to the Type 054A/CSOC 4,000-ton FFG (ideally with LR-SAM).

IMO warships over 2,000 tons should have VLS as a standard system, even for a sub-hunter. These ships will in general have to maintain extended range defensibility against aerial threats. PDMS such as RAM or FL-3000N are a start, but a MR-SAM extends that envelope to 30-35 km.

it has enough to defend its self against sea based shiop and missiles. aircraft are not a problem as areas they will operate will be either in open ocean where mig 29k dont have the range to engage a ship so far away especailly if it has to travel 200+km away from the carrier. or littoral waters which is more likely as the creeks and the mangroves are perfect for subs to hide.

from the pics from the expo the ship pakistan will be receving will be the standard corvette

time to get to reality.

well the picture also shows the RAM which is better than any SAM we have in service
but again picture means nothing
nobody knows what we will get

It seems Turkey is using one design to cater to different needs by introducing modifications in the original designs.

The Russian Klub and China's YJ-18 double as a LACM and AShM, (Launched vertically too even on corvettes and frigates.)

Apparently same is the case with the Babur-2.

Ada class is a frontline ASW corvette, not a littoral vessel. Swiftships 75 m corvette, if equipped with torpedo and sonar, can serve as littoral ASW platform.

If nothing changed, The information received about negotiations are about I class frigate for Pakistan which means;

Modified Milgem hull + VLS equipped in acc to Pakistani requirements to name with a different name = I class in Turkish ! :)

Where is the 'information' coming from? Cite a source (if any) rather than these feel good comments.

Davut Yilmaz, Rana Tanveer Hussain and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi have mentioned Milgem [Ada] corvettes in recent statements.

who know's the usa may not even allow the export of the rim-116.

.
i do recall call the milgema an anti sub ship (ASW) corvette look at the draught

as for the americain ships, i dont know the specs of the ship, they can be complements to the dutch opv or dedicated for brown water or even blue water mission's

The advantage of Milgem is its stealth ship, which means most of those missiles you will fire from Mig-29 from far away, will not find Milgem as its radar seeker either will get hacked by Turkish EW system or will not be able to see Milgem as Frigate but a small fish boat..

On the other hand, if the ship is far from its location and you got no gps support thanks to AD of this ship, good luck with finding it..

The draught (3.59 m) may allow operations in littoral waters, but since those are meant to replace 4 of the Type 21's, PN will use the Milgem corvettes as frontline ASW ships.

Swiftships corvettes will perform CTF-150/151 missions (peacetime) and IMO supplement Azmat class FAC's in A2/AD during wartime (if armed with 4x Harpoon SSM, RAM, torpedo tubes and HMS/SLTA). Both ships can attain a maximum speed of 30 knots.

Apparently same is the case with the Babur-2.

An anti-ship version of Babur doesn't exist (yet) and there is no concrete evidence that PN will deploy one on its surface ships.

There was a MoDP report mentioning development of a dual LACM/AShM launcher by DGMP. This could refer to the land attack version of C-802A or even Zarb (C-602?) and doesn't necessarily mean Babur.

Russian Kalibr/Klub family of missiles includes anti-ship, land-attack and anti submarine variants as well.

I think KS&EWs should join this program with Turkey other than these 4. It's far better than Chinese ones.
