Pakistan in talks for 4 Ada Class Corvettes, T-129 Helicopters & modernization of agosta fleet

Demir, who emphasized the importance of exports on marine platforms, said, "We have to make important leaps, one of our most important export items is the boots we exported up to 170. But the major vessels are the supply vessels in Pakistan and the subsequent modernization operations, A MILGEM platform we are bringing in. Who will market the MILGEM platform? When we asked where we are a little bit for it. When we went to talk to market MILGEM MILGEM's designer, came to the fore issues such as builders and we can not show a single address. Turkey 's needs now as well as in other countries maritime leading in the industry, especially exportWhen we say ' Turkey ' s This is the flagship in exports' we can say we need an organization, "he said.

@cabatli_53 can you give us a more accurate translation of what Ismail Demir said?

In summary, Complaining about organization defficiency of Turkish naval industry bro. When we asked who is going to export matured Milgem platform, we hold on a minutes(STM is charged for export of Milgem). When we organized meetings to talk about likely export of Milgem, Costumers ask us the questions like who is designed Milgem? Who is producing Milgem? We couldn’t show a single adress but a seperative industrial complexes. In naval sector, we need a powerhouse shipyard to introduce costumers a responsible institute from design to manufacturing process. He also complained the number of shipyards which is bringing solutions to Naval sector and fierce rivalry of private shipyards on same export markets with similar ship solutions. His speeches are more about internal problems of naval industry on export markets.

In 2018, Atmaca will be operational.

it would takes years to finalize any such project, it took years to finalize even the Chinese subs and frigates(and we owuld always come out declare projects dead..lol) where as Chinese projects are straight forward given almost all tech/vendors being Chinese, this is not case with Turkish frigates

i think alot of vendors discussion will take time, i dont expect signing before 2019-2020 to be honest

According to information received, Negotiations are proceeding for credit mechanism betwen both nation. Pakistan demands to increase already revealed credit to be received via Eximbank to purchase both Milgem and T-129 Atak helicopters in same credit pack. Turkish side is on track to increase credit to be given to Pakistan, While demanding to take treasury guarantee from Pakistan side. BTW, It is said that the Milgem will be Istanbul class frigates for Pakistan, not corvette. @Bilal Khan (Quwa)

Interesting. Still, I think $2-3 bn (which is the equivalent of such a deal) is a lot for the Turk Eximbank in terms of risk. It's very surprising to me that Turkey would assume so much risk with Pakistan. Is it possible that Turkey is also working with third-party private banks to extend loans to Pakistan? IIRC Japan gave Qatar a loan to help fund the Rafale purchase.
