That reinstatement of Zaka Ashraf is a fresh breather for the PCB.Though nothing near to ideal both of them,Zaka and Najam sethi but, Zaka's way of managing things is/was quite different and was proving effective at least on the stage of PCB's administration.
He's not the favorite of the current GoP though.But it looks like that his presence can create some balance in the current state of affairs that were supposed to go only in one way and that is downwards.

His present task of pleading Pakistan's case is hell of a job.Though he used to duck these bouncers is the past.And there were some concerns about his presence as a Pakistani representative.But after his reappointment,he seems to be taking his job pretty seriously.Good for him,the PCB and Pakistani at large.

Though it'll be a speculation,but most of my fellow Pakistanis can understand how a handicapped Najam sethi(who wasn't enjoying his full freedom of power and authority and was very much inclined to the "dekhi jaye gi" type of policy) would have dealt something like this.So,that was a very timely decision by the Islamabad High court to bring him back.

After all he is ex-fauji. Will never compromise on national interest.

there is something called code of condut which ICC is not aware of unfortunately

1) the so called big nation england has not won a single world cup in one dayers, and it one of the most trundler nations in world cricket, it invented the sport by couldn't win a single world cup shows how they play cricket

2) india the so called big nation doesn't even produce quality bowlers, relies on corruption and gambled money to fund its cricket and flat indian pitches

this is their record for the past games held in non flat, indian pitches

3) australia, who the fk cares about this nation in the world? australia had to leave oceania and join asian football counsel in order to compete in the world, australia is the country which was populated by british convicts marooned in the most southern part of the world, they are still sort of british colony

آئی سی سی کے اس اجلاس کے پہلے روز ماحول کئی بار گرم ہوا جس پر’ تین بڑوں‘ کے ماتھے پر بل بھی آئے اور انھوں نے برا بھی منایا۔

چھوٹے ممالک نے پہلے روز کے اجلاس کے اختتام پر جاری کردہ پریس ریلیز پر بھی تحفظات ظاہر کر دیے جس کی ایک جھلک پاکستان کرکٹ بورڈ اور جنوبی افریقی کرکٹ بورڈ نے اپنے جوابی پریس ریلیز کے ذریعے دکھا دی۔

پاکستان کرکٹ بورڈ نے اپنے پریس ریلیز میں یہ بات واضح کردی ہے کہ آئی سی سی کے اجلاس میں تین بڑوں کے مجوزہ پوزیشن پیپر پر کوئی فیصلہ نہیں ہوا ہے بلکہ اجلاس میں پیش کردہ رہنما اصولوں پر پاکستان کرکٹ بورڈ پہلے اپنے گورننگ بورڈ سے ان کی منظوری لے گا جس کے بعد وہ آئی سی سی کے اگلے اجلاس میں اپنی پوزیشن کے ساتھ پیش ہوگا۔

WICB projects 100% rise in revenue if ICC revamp stamped

The West Indies Cricket Board has said it expects its revenue to rise by "at least 100%" over the next eight years if the "key principles" of the draft proposal on the ICC's revenue sharing are voted in. The board issued a statement in support of the "key principles" put forward on day one of the ICC executive board meeting in Dubai, saying it had engaged in "extensive discussions" before concluding that several of the key principles could be beneficial to West Indies cricket.

"After extensive discussions and careful consideration the West Indies Cricket Board joined with all other Full Members of the ICC in providing support for key principles relating to the future structure, governance and financial models of the ICC," the release said.

The release listed the benefits the proposals could have for the game in the Caribbean, including the projected monetary benefits. "Based on new proposed system of ICC revenue sharing for the upcoming eight year cycle (2015-2023) WICB projects to receive at least 100% increase on the previous eight year cycle (2006-2014)," the release said.

The annual Test Match Fund, which is to support Full Members other than India, England and Australia, will "allow the WICB a financial buffer in the hosting of Test cricket against unprofitable teams", the release said. Also, bilateral playing agreements, as opposed to the FTP, would mean West Indies "will not be bound" to host those unprofitable tours, it said. "West Indies will have an opportunity, through bilateral agreements, to increase the number of matches and series (Tests, ODIs and T20Is) played annually by the West Indies men's team against higher ranked opposition and against teams which are profitable to the WICB. These will include matches and series both in the West Indies and overseas."

Moreover, the BCCI, ECB and Cricket Australia "have all committed" to increased tours to the Caribbean over the next eight years, in addition to the current tours slotted into the FTP, the board said.

West Indies would not be affected by the originally proposed two-tier Test system, it said, since they are currently ranked seven on the ICC ratings; while the team is just a five points clear of eighth-placed New Zealand at present, there is a big gulf between eight and nine - Zimbabwe, at nine, are 53 points adrift of West Indies.

Also, the key principles on governance, the WICB said, would not have any negative effect on the board, since its members were "not in any way excluded from membership or chairmanship of any committee of the ICC". They would remain eligible to be elected to the presidency, vice-presidency and chairmanship of the ICC, and chairmanship of the proposed Financial & Commercial Affairs and Ex- Co committees.

Following discussions in Dubai on Tuesday, the ICC board settled for a period of consultation between boards and discussion over a set of principles which, if approved, will grant the BCCI, the ECB and Cricket Australia a bigger share of cricket's global revenues and a bigger control of the game's governance. The matter was not put to vote, with four cricket boards - Cricket South Africa, Sri Lanka Cricket, the Bangladesh Cricket Board and the Pakistan Cricket Board - showing opposition towards such a revamp. New Zealand Cricket, on the other hand, had earlier stated that it was not worried by the proposed changes.

The WICB had refrained from commenting on the draft proposal earlier, the release said, since it had wanted to "engage in discussions with fellow Full Members and receive a more detailed and thorough presentation at the ongoing ICC meeting" before reacting.

Have you seen India play New Zealand recently? Have you seen India fielding and bowling? Probably the worst of its kind in the world.

India cant produce fast bowlers, its a lion only at local grounds. Its fielding is pathetic. If India is given ascendancy because of money only, the game of cricket will suffer. As India and even England will be happy with mediocrity that they are producing knowing their money will save them.

Check out England. One of the Big Three. Whitewashed in the Ashes without a semblance of a fight. Have not seen a series that was so awaited but was such a disappointing one sided affair. England players only do gym work it seems. Their batting, bowling and mental techniques were nowhere world class.

Pakistan is a powerful cricketing nation. But its cricket suffered because of lack of merit. If friends of PM or President keep getting the chairmanship of PCB, cricket will definitely suffer due to mismanagement. Pakistan has suffered in the last decade not because of lack of talent but lack of management.

Not that I m Pakistani that I m saying this. If (big IF) we have management based on merit, we are the best cricketing nation around. Which country can play away from home for such a long time and still be a force in world cricket?
