Here we go again, same old same old excuses and failure to act against the violent bloody terrorists inside Pakistan. I think our US Congress should now freeze funds for the military of Pakistan as a counter measure to such cowardace.
USA should intensify its drone attacks and Osama like operation against terrorists. And should station at least 25% of its present force in Afghanistan permanently while transferring its supplies from gwadar port and russia.
PESHAWAR – The Pakistani military has deployed 20,000 troops to North Waziristan in preparation for a major operation in the troubled agency, media reported.
Preparations for a grand operation in the area are in the final stages, while authorities are arranging to accommodate those who are likely to migrate as a result of the operation, Dawn reported.
Two Frontier Corps wings have also been deployed in North Waziristan, reports said.
“To facilitate (accommodation of) around 500,000 tribesmen who are likely to be displaced, the FATA Disaster Management Authority has been directed to make arrangements in coordination with the world bodies,” Dawn said.
Those leaving their homes are likely to be accommodated in Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu and nearby districts.
Inaction against the Haqqani network will definitely give more ammunition to those in congress who want to stop funding to Pakistan. It also lends more credence to the idea that Pakistan is protecting the Afghan Taliban. Now let me ask you this, if this is the case and Pakistan is protecting them. Then doesn't the U.S. have the right to go after them in Pakistan. Since the Pakistan Government refuses to act against them? After all if they are shielding terrorists then how can they hide under guise of sovereignty?
Regrettably, Pakistan today has the save worldwide economic depression, high levels of unemployment, etc, etc. and cannot float it's own boat, let alone defend it's own Navy base in Karachi from infiltrators and inside jobbers.
Pakistan must move toward, not away from, more democracy and separate religion from civil government, as has been done in Bangladesh.
