Pakistan Christians demand right to visit Israel

By doing so Pakistan as a sovereign state has nothing to loose. Like they say keep your friends close and your enemies closer. But Israel is not even your enemy. Even Arabs don't hold any hostilities towards Israel part from some Palestinian Arabs .

Israel is an illeagle counter, we dont recognize it nor ever will. All Arabs hate Israel, i dont know where you are getting your information from.

Well given that Pakistani Hindus go to India and Indian Sikhs come to Pakistan for pilgrimage I can understand why Pakistani Christians are demanding to go to Israel with Pakistani passports. After all our relationship with India is much worse than our relationship with Israel. Still we dont recognize Israel and probably wont any time in the near future either so our Christian bro's will have to find another way around this.

Yes only making sure whole Pakistan is on fire no Sir. Israel has to solve Palestine issue, this issue is the main reason in rise in extremists and provide support to Jihadists

Before lecturing us please deal with the regressive attitude of France which prevents Muslims, Jews, Christians, etc... students from exercising their religious faith in public schools. They are a member of NATO and one of your allies.

That makes no sense, mate! The idea is not to include religion in the public space guaranteed by the State.
It works for all religions too. But all French citizens can go do pilgrimage to any place they want!

Strange protest from strange protesters something must be behind it.
Agreed! Two things are weird and make this fishy :
A- The choice ( on the banner ) of Israel day when it's a "Jewish state " ( as Pakistan is Islamic )
and not a Christian one.
B- The use of the term obligations when nowhere in Christianity, contrary to Hajj, is there such a
demand to the faithful to visit Christ's place of birth, living and dying. ( Roman Judea in any case, :what: ).

My take would be this too : that since Islam recognizes Jesus as a beloved prophet,
these Pakistanis are not treated any differently than the Muslim ones, are they?
So that in fact, as sad as it may be, all Pakistani citizens are "forbidden" to visit and pay
respect to the land of Isa PBUH?

So that I honestly don't see a specific problem stemming from the national viewpoint there.
Good day all, Tay.

we dont have diplomatic ties with Israel hence we cant issue visa. Even Pakistani Muslims cant visit it its not specific to Christians.
Dont get defensive and show, ' Its not bout christians or muslims. Its bout Pakistanis' :D

Point is simple, Christians have a right to visit their holy land and its Pakistani govt's job to create provisions which can be created if fake ego is given less importance to genuine demands by ur citizens. And then u say minorities are better off in ur country. :)

The law is plain and simple :) we do not have any fake ego it is written constitutionally on the passport.

As Taygibay said there is no such obligation on the Christians to visit Israel.

Now what is who is behind these 6 or seven men holding banner this is anybody's guess. :)

NO visa until diplomatic relations are started between the two.

Obligation? Pilgrimage is never an obligation. Its bout faith and u being a grownup woman shudnt be the one ignoring all these things. And please explain me how do Christians visiting Israel make Pakistani Muslims less Islamic?

As per your logic Sikhs shudnt be going to Nanaksahib coz India is Pakistan's No.1 Enemy proclaimed by ur own Amry chiefs. If India was so insensitive towards its minorities, we cud have also written on our passport and made it a law.

Point is, its not bout the law. It can anyday change if justified by the lawmakers. Its all bout bullshit illogical laws which make no sense coz some judicial guy dont want to repeat Taseer's story being acted on himself. And we talk bout moderate society.

India can not do that, since they want to send their spy in Pakistan. This will put control on Indian terrorism sponsorship which is why they even take Pakistan as No. 1 Enemy, they don't do such thing.

This is the law and everyone has to obey. If interested, then return the passport and go to Israel. Israel has special clearance for Pakistanis who break the laws.

Pakistan Christians demand right to visit Israel
Protesters say they are being denied right to go on pilgrimage

A Pakistani Christian group called on their government Sunday to allow Christians to go on pilgrimage to religious sites in Israel.

There are no formal diplomatic ties between the two countries and Pakistan forbids its citizens from going to the Holy Land.

All Pakistani passports state, “This passport is valid for all countries of the world except Israel”.

Under Israeli law, Pakistan is a designated an enemy state and Israeli citizens may not visit there without a special permit issued by the Israeli Interior Ministry.

God’s Peoples Fellowship of Pakistan (GPFP), a Karachi-based Christian organization, which seeks diplomatic ties with Israel, staged a protest on Sunday outside the Karachi press club to demand the lifting of the travel ban on Christian Pakistanis to Israel.

“People of different religions particularly Sikhs of India come to Pakistan every year to perform their religious obligations despite the fact the two countries have fought three wars,” Ashraf P Butt, Secretary-General of the GPFP, said.

“Since Pakistan doesn’t recognize the state of Israel and does not maintain any diplomatic ties, the Christian community in Pakistan has been deprived of their legitimate religious rights,” he told ucanews.com.

“In light of the Bilateral Protocol Agreement signed between India and Pakistan in 1974, granting permission to visit religious shrines and sites, the GPFP also demands the same arrangements for Christians,” he said.

He criticized the Supreme Court for dismissing a GPFP petition seeking a lifting of the ban out of hand.

“We deem Bethlehem, Jerusalem, the holy city of King David, the Skull place where Jesus Christ was crucified, Nazareth, Galilee and other such places sacred,” Butt said.

Pervaiz Khan, a pastor, said Christians are only asking for the rights to visit holy places in Israel.

“When Muslims can freely go to Mecca and Medina for pilgrimage, why can’t we exercise our religious obligations guaranteed by the constitution of Pakistan,” he said.

Somebody needs to inform these "intelligent" people that they can visit Israel via Jordan, through the King Hussein / Allenby Bridge!

The Israelis are so nice that they won't stamp a Pakistani Passport, but staple a piece of paper to you passport with the stamp! Which they will remove once you exit.

You'd be surprised at the number of Pakistanis, eating Kunafa Nablusi in Jerusalem, right now!!

@waz @Jango @Jungibaaz @Manticore Guys once you have verified, what I have said, can we please shut down this thread?

Ha Ha. If that swhat u believe then dont cry when we stop all Indian citizen privileges given to Hurriyat losers. Even we can say anyone who want to be in Pakistan can leave Kashmir and u can only cry bout it. As u see its not that simple to deny ur CITIZEN his rights and personal faith is also amongst the fundamental rights.

From next time never say that Pakistan cares bout its minorities and especially dont preach India bout its responsibilities towards its citizen's fundamental rights.

doing that smells Hypocricy.

We don't say, only Hypocrite are indians who once kill Muslims, Christians, and other religion group and call themself secular. We are muslim state, and our laws are our laws. If you have any issue, go and take asylum like all such people does.

Everyone should have the right/access to holy places of their respective religion, a very Legitimate demand. i am in favor of allowing them to travel to Israel on religious grounds...
