If the soldier had crossed by genuine mistake then this is sad and unfortunate.

But the Indian side always has to be wary about infiltration by non-state actors so their reaction is understandable.

I recall another recent case in which a Pakistani soldier had crossed over to talk to some village girl and he was allowed to return unharmed.

Also this is happening soon after the gruesome beheading incident so IA has to be extra cautious.

And our helicopter didn't cross with an entire crew, it was one pilot only, in an unarmed helicopter. Quite different from an armed soldier crossing the LoC with an AK-47, across a border through which terrorists often cross. What do you expect our armymen posted there to do, go ask him politely, "Excuse me dear child, but are you lost?"

Because Indian pilot landed the helicopter and didn't engage as he knew he had came to wrong territory. But seems like this guy didn't surrendered.

Any Pakistani/Indian soldiers wandering about the LoC after the recent tension is simply asking to be shot. The PA knows that the IA will spare no one wandering about, intentional or otherwise. Any walking target is simply suicidal or stupid.

In the helicopter case even the Pakistanis did not initially realize that an Indian helicopter had crossed over. After the Indian pilot had landed he asked the ground staff to refill his tank and it was only then that anybody realized that anything was wrong.

He did not fire First , he Crossed the LOC & realized it afterwards , he contacted his CC who told him to wait for further orders ( as they try to establish contact with Indian counter part , contact established & Indian's told that they will look into it ) , and around that time Indian post noticed him , & opened fire , he was not in a position to take a sustainable cover , so he had to retaliate , however lack of cover got him shot & he embraced Shahadat .

That is what I am told .


Fault was on both side , his fault was that he crossed LOC Unknowingly , and Indian fault was they were too impatient & Trigger Happy .

He was killed in fire fight, fighting the enemy, instead of surrendering, he fought bravely.

Indian Army will give his body to PA with all the honors, with his head attached of course.
