only if RSA is under threat, 2 divisions of PA are earmarked for air-lift to RSA.

That'll be great if the Boy Scout attack S.A. They're BOTH lying back-stabbers. Let them burn together. F'em both !!!

.
Lets suppose for the sake of argument that if PA deploys two divisions to protect the house of Saud basically, and if Imam Mehdi emerges during their stay in future, would they fight for the Saudis against the Mahdi or join Mahdi's ranks?

LOL

LOL

 The Gov't won't trust even the Police to protect it. All is handled by the Royal Guard, the secret service, and the intelliegence.

Give it a rest, till the basement dude comes

Man! you are a riot!

Awesome!

Pakistan will gain:

1) $ $ $ $ $ $
2) Influence in the House of Saud and Saudi Arabia
3) More knowledge on Desert Warfare, and test-pad for improved tactics
4) Testing ground for Indigenous Warfare Platforms to test in the Saudi desert
5) View on more advanced American Platforms
6) Ability to review and revise Saudi Military Academies, Schools, Training
7) Military Intelligence Platforms with Saudi Intel Establishments
8) Hajj/ Ummarah
9) Perhaps experience with Crowd control due to 8.
10) Insight on Saudi Counter-Terrorism Efforts and tactics
11) Another active battlefield

These are just some.

Well said.

But as @Yzd Khalifa stated. These are tiny tiny amount of benefits.

The biggest benefit is that such deployment brings the two countries and the two people together

otherwise the only thing comes through is funding from Saudi charities for the Islamo-fascists Talibarbarians.

I can just imagine

that if Islamist general Aslam beg had not f'd up in GW-1, Pakistani army would have been still deployed in the region and even in other hot spots close by.

Then we would be talking about an alliance brought together by "blood".

But Pakistani Mraxists and Islamists never wanted PA and never liked it.

and hence the loss of immense benefits of having our troops deployed in the region

For at least 20-30 years Chinese cannot deploy forces in or near ME.

They don't have logistics to support that kind of thing.

China could never get strong enough to deploy forces overseas.

The reason that USA could deploy forces overseas and interfere in affair of other countries in a brazen manner is because of invulnerability of it's homeland. It is surrounded by two weak neighbours, out of which one is extension of it's cultural realm, and by Ocean on other two sides. It is invulnerable at home hence could interfere in international affairs with impunity.

China on the other hand is surrounded by Russia, India,Japan and Korea; all of which are it's peer powers. It has to deploy substantial chunk of it'd army at home for homeland defense. Had Mexico been a superpower, US would not have been able to Interfere abroad.

In case of US's withdrawl, Gulf countries have to look at alliances at regional level. Neither Russia nor China could fulfill that gap.

Idk about the US retreat and the impact on the Gulf States. To us, I think we maintain an upper hand over our hostile neighbors. But a regional alliance is imminent.

Saudi Arabia should look in to getting their own men trained by these two Brigades and bring their own Army to a level of about 800,000 Army Men. I really don't know the current numbers but I think they should plan up something like 1.1 Million Men in Saudi Army in coming 5 years time along with some increase in Airforce and specially Navy Submarine force...

Pakistan Army cannot spare 2 Divns at this point of time and they shouldn't.
It will put a lot of pressure on them.

Source:Saudi Arabian Army - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

they have about 150,000 men which is really nothing at all. KSA, must hire ex-PA trainers on permanent basis in Saudi Arabia to trained more and more men and make it an Army of 1.1 Million hard Soldiers willing to shed their blood for ALLAH.

20-30 years is being a little to pessimistic. If Gwader port gets up and running and China asks Pakistan to station Chinese forces there, you think Pakistan will refuse?

Gwader is right at the mouth of the Persian Gulf.

1. After the Brits left PA's Karachi Bde had been tasked with the protection of oil royal families. That protection was limited only to the families/regimes where Seven Sisters (oil) were present. Pakistan had shown no interest in supporting the Arabs when the Anglo-French-Israeli forces invaded Suez in1956.In fact PM Suhrowardy had actually made pro-West statements, Pakistan then being a staunch ally of anti-Communist West. The Arabs had become anti-Pakistan only to be turned round when our Saiful Azam(Saif) had shot down couple of Israeli aircraft,1967. This task of protecting these royals eventually became a task of the Karachi Corps.

2. All these changed with the Americans launching the-so-called war on terror which Pakistani shave taken to be an American attack on Pakistan. The Arab Spring, US invasions of Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya - all supported by the oil royals but condemned by Pakistani masses, further jeopardized this project. The royals are now to be protected by IA's Southern Command,Pune.

3. Nawaz Sharif maintains intimate terms with the Saudi royals. The Americans have been beaten in Afghanistan. They are pulling out of the region. Pakistan will not like India taking over a role that is otherwise strategically important to her.

Gen Aslam Beg only fu<ked up cause he predicted the US would be clearly defeated by the Iraqis. Among his conspiracy theories that the West encouraged Iraq to invade Kuwait. And his flip flopping attitude on the war. From pro American to pro Iraqi, a COAS isn't some 1st grader trying to solve 1+1=11 only to backtrack and say its 3 and later figure out its 2.

Wow!

this is the best 3 seconds summary of army history of the Middle East. NOT!

He f'd up because his brain was not thinking like an army general (trained in war history)

BUT

his brain was filled with 2-bit Mullahtic dreams.

hahahah

Pathetic moron and pathetic excuse of a general.

Alright, let's dissect every statement one by one at a time :) ...

1. After the Brits left PA's Karachi Bde had been tasked with the protection of oil royal families. That protection was limited only to the families/regimes where Seven Sisters (oil) were present

Prior to the withdrawal of British military commanders, even long before the declaration of dependance, KSA maintained good relations with Pakistan back then. Of course relations with strengthened after the Mumbai Conference.

Speaking of the protection by Karachi Brigade, I'd like to remind you that back in the days where the Brits left Pakistan, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman didn't gain their dependance back then. Thusly, to assume that they offered such thing as protection is too ludicrous. My family has been in this business for quite sometime, I can speak with the authority on that.

I'm not assigned to the sub-continent but I believe the Karachi Brigade played a major role in anti-terror operations - with the ISI of course - Some of their operations are known to be the greatest anti-terror operations of all time such as capturing Ramzi Yousef who plotted the World Trade Center bombings in the 90s, also, Ramzi Bin Al-Shibh as well as capturing the mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks - Khalid Sheikh Mohammed -

As for the Saudis - I don't know much about the Kuwaitis really - the task of protecting the King was given to the Ikhwan - also known as the white army - The White Army's origins are traced to the 20s a long time before Pakistan itself gained its independence.

KSA didn't support the nationalists in Egypt back then when they led a coup against the Egyptian last Monarch - King Farooq - at the same time KSA wasn't hostile to the Nasserists much. When the Anglo-Franco-Israeli forces invaded the Canal in 56, KSA didn't take any action except putting a great pressure under the Brits - along with the US which too was outraged by such an invasion -

KSA's political affiliation was in par with Pakistan, a pro-Western Capitalists, Anti-Communist. To assume that KSA was hostile to Pakistan due to its political affiliation, isn't solely insane but also shows lack of knowledge. In addition to this, if all Arabs were anti-Pakistan as you're suggesting, then why would Pakistan officially interfered in favor of KSA during the boarder clashes with Yemen, at a time where we had many jets and less pilots? This took place long before the volunteers Pakistan sent to Syria and Egypt in 67 and respectively to 73.

Not true. The vast majority of Pakistanis support the US intervention in Afghanistan, while they opposed the invasion of Iraq, which KSA opposed as well. As for Libya, only Qatar and the UAE supported taking military actions while KSA remained indifferent.

Whether we opposed it or not, in case of Libya, when the Security Council approved taking a military action.

3. Nawaz Sharif maintains intimate terms with the Saudi royals. The Americans have been beaten in Afghanistan. They are pulling out of the region. Pakistan will not like India taking over a role that is otherwise strategically important to her.

True, but Nawaz isn't backed up by the entire political establishments of KSA. Another key element in this equation is that the stabilization of Afghanistan. It is one of the highest priority to both countries.
