Oh bhai the crashed chopper was a AS350 a MODERN CHOPPER, its in use every where around the world , maintence is not the issue every time , Accidents can happen especially in mountainous areas,
Har jagha yeh apna yeh " we should replace these old , why dont we buy new one " wala chutiyapa na khola karo , na aqal hai na kuch , na koi research ki , bas forum par We should replace kay ronay ki post kar di .
Har baat karnay ka waqt hota hai , har jaga har baat nahi ki jaati , Lekin nahi aap ko to sirf aik kaam ata , when will we get new stuff ,
Dunya mey kisi aisay country ka naam bata do jo purani equipment na istamal karta ho , US bhi M113 istamaal karta hai non upgraded walay .

Internally Army Aviation these days is in critical phase. Lack of funds are causing severe limitations for regular flights and maintenance issues. The EC Fennec is a good and modern helicopter aptly suited for high altitude flying. It’s unfortunate to hear about is fatal Crash. Lets hope it’s not human error due to any maintenance shortcomings etc.

Allah(swt) bless the eternal soul of your cousin and his martyred colleagues. This is the ultimate sacrifice that any family may make in the service of their people. I wish my words could do some sort of justice to the sacrifice made today - knowing however that they never can, I hope only that Allah(swt) accepts my duahs and the duahs of all Pakistanis on this day. We stand with heads bowed and humble in reverence for our shaheeds.

In such circumstances, shouldn't external deployments of aviation assets be curtailed to support internal operations?

Also wondering how the fatality of the shaheed sepoy Qadeer happened (Minimarg is a few KMs off the LOC)?

While the age of the machine can be debated - this is a machine whose flight comes from its ability to swing fairly heavy wings around at high speeds to basically beat the air around it into submission for flight. All of this is accomplished by a jet turbine using a complicated system of gearboxes to transfer rotational power to the blades and also coordinating power transfer to the tail rotor.

In short, more things can go wrong in a helicopter than other flying machines.

At the end, it was their time and in the service of a nation which at least pretends to be existing for La-illaha-illallah .. their worldly and afterlife troubles are all over.
The remaining Pakistanis still have to answer for their part in their nation’s pathetic condition and any national lax of duty which may or may not have led to this and many many other disasters.
