SSG/ISI volunteered for Afghanistan ops... mostly accompanying Mujahideen into battle... leading, planning ops and chosing targets.SSG did operate in Afghanistan however not on a grand scale, their may have been encounters with Spetsnaz but I cannot say for certainty as no such encounter was ever mentioned in "The Bear Trap" by Brig Mohammad Yousaf, if memory serves me correctly.Kudos
Discipline and patriotism at its best.Kudos sir
Most Pakistanis know English, most people in the army as well. I was surprised how bi-lingual our soldiers are when I lived in Sialkot Cantonment. An average soldier regardless of his ethnicity spoke English, Punjabi, Pashto and Urdu.I recall seeing a video of the INDRA exercises and the Russian officer was communicating with the Indian officer through a russian soldier who spoke english, just wondering in the Pak army do they have to learn how to speak english?

Soldiers are given foreign language training for the purpose. I've seen US soldiers speaking Hindi, Arabic, Chinese etc...Maybe but I get the feeling it's not english

Must be from the legacy of the British Indian army. I dont think most Russian soldiers speak english though, so then it is most likely they did use a translator. Most Pakistanis know English, most people in the army as well. Yes it's true that Pakistani special forces and spetsnaz clashed, but Pakistanis didn't far well, despite the propaganda. I also have family that was in that war including a KGB colonel so I may know a little more then you...
Back to topic, your article is the worst propaganda ever. The Soviets would just airlift its soldiers out if defeat was ever imminent and superior airpower and artillery would make it impossible that 3000 Paratroopers and Spetsnaz died. There were 39 Soviet paratroopers that fought up to 400 Pakistani special forces, the Russians came away with 6 killed, the Pakistanis with up to 250 killed.
There was 16 Russian special forces in Syria that battles 300+ jihadists armed with tanks, ATGMs, armored bulldozers, APCs and mortars and the Russian special forces suffered zero casualties.
Your claim is rededicolous, Russian clearly have better trained forces, more experience and more assets, so 3000 Spetsnaz dying is beyond stupid.
Any significant prove to back your claims ?
That is actually a very large misconception blown way out of proportion.Yes it's true that Pakistani special forces and spetsnaz clashed, but Pakistanis didn't far well, despite the propaganda. I also have family that was in that war including a KGB colonel so I may know a little more then you...

Your source says nothing about the Pakistani Special Forces except this part:Here is an incouter with Pakistani special forces.

For me to prove that I had family in the Afghan war and a KGB colonel I would have to give you proof and personal information about myself and them and I'm simply not going to do that.

Here are those 16 special forces battling well armed, equipped and trained jihadists in Syria with zero losses.

There are many other examples of Russian paratroopers or special forces taking out much larger forces. There was never a brigade of VDV paratroopers and Spetsnaz that was completely "whipped out". Even A brigade of Soviet conscripts would not get whipped out, if things really got bad they would just retreat under cover of artillery and airstrikes or just be evacuated by helicopters.
That is actually a very large misconception blown way out of proportion.
It is a only a claim that the SSG participated in Hill 3234 and even if they did, they always served as officer roles guiding the Mujaheddin instead of direct combat. If the SSG participated in the battle, they would've number in less than a dozen and most likely suffered no casualties.
The attack goes against the doctrine that was advocated by PA which always dissuaded the Mujaheddin from frontal attacks, so it is unlikely if the PA was even involved.
No way in hell would the SSG send 400 men to secure a hill manned by 39 Soviet Paratroopers. It's common sense.
