Pakistan accepts NATO's offer on quake relief
Islamabad, Oct 22 : Pakistan Saturday accepted the offer from the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) for additional humanitarian relief assistance and deployment of the latter's forces for quake relief.

Pakistan, however, informed NATO that the deployment of forces would be in consultation with Pakistan and would be mainly for reconstruction of destroyed infrastructure, Online news agency reported.

NATO's help would be sought in reconstructing destroyed hospitals, roads, bridges and schools, provision of medical care and also for aerial movement of supplies.

Pakistan has proposed immediate talks with NATO to work out the details of the relief operations.

The NATO force will consist of a reinforced engineering battalion of some 1,000 personnel, a medical field hospital with its attendant medical staff and supplies and a logistics team for unloading and loading of NATO planes.
