Pak Navy able to repel border attack’

C-400 isn't ready yet. It's more like saying India deploying Rafale and PAK-FAs near the border for preemptive strike, while Scorpenes will launch a volley of SLCMs to put major ports out of service.

CM-400AKG is operational and inducted.

What guidance system does it employ?

Impact velocity is hypersonic.

Impact velocity is hypersonic.

As it is mentioned that this missile is designed to use against stationery and 'slow moving' targets, automatically dismisses it's threat against high valued naval target as the speed of naval warships easily tops 50 km/h.

And the term of 'carrier killer' is flawed, as the total weight of the missile is at 400kg, that makes the weight of warhead at around 50-80 kg range. More than 4-5 will be required to hit the target to bring down a carrier.

There is no speed specified for "slow moving" targets, so its hard to judge which targets are inclusive and which ones are exclusive. With, hypersonic impact velocity it may simply impact and penetrate the carrier to its bottom, putting it out of action for the period of active hostilities. The noteworthy, aspect about this system is that it utilizes a ballistic missile trajectory.

As there is no specified limit to the slow moving target, but for a ground target, a speed of 50 km is considered pretty fast, and with a velocity exceeding mach 4, it isn't easy for a top attack stand off missile to maneuver accordingly to hit the target moving with that kind of velocity.

Both of us can speculate, for sure there are questions left unanswered. Perhaps more details may come out as the time goes by.

Yes, as with our limited knowledge on platforms, all we can do is speculate. But ballistic trajectory is not ideal for anti-shipping role. Several such articles exists on critically evaluating Chinese anti-ship ballistic missiles.

Read this thread.. The missile was extensively discussed..
It has interchangeable sensors..
Beidou+INS guidence and then active or Passive radar guidence in terminal phase.
Its a quasi ballistic missile..
With cruise altitude of 50km...
And yes it can be used against ships..
Total explosive power including the kinetic energy at mach 5 is about 480kg..... Which is enough to damage if not sink an ACC

Also the initial attack would be spearheaded by our Navy fighter aircrafts (carier based) and missiles. If face to face confrontation happens, (I highly doubt it), PNs best chance would be not to be drawn into the open sea as IN would be looking to do the exact. Once in the open, 8 out of 10 times the carrier group could successfully engage the defenders into a decisive offensive.

your Carrier leaves the base and ends up at the bottom of the ocean, I guarantee you that

Pakistan can bring their Patrol boats on Border and Launch Their torpedos :woot: Offcourse their Fighter jets can Swim in water and Army Tanks can fly in air :pakistan:

and you can talk from the exit hole, there is no mouth wash for that smell

Ive already discussed it elsewhere, The issue is not of hitting the target as many missiles such as the SS-N-12 and SS-N-19 also use a top down attack mode and have terminal velocities that approach M 2.5.. and are still considered extremely deadly weapons.
Accuracy against 50km/h is not an issue.. since slight corrections for a missile Moving at M2.5 will still keep it on course.
At the terminal stage.. is what matters... and considering that Mach 3.7-4 is stated as the terminal impact velocity.. it does have the potential to cause a lot of damage..
After all.. when a chicken can prove deadly at 300 km/h to an aircraft.. then a 400 kg missile flying in at M4 even with a 80-100kg warhead will leave a hole.

Again.. the idea is NOT to sink the carrier.. just make it irrelevant..
Stop flight ops.. at that point the carrier becomes nothing more than a glorified freighter carrying a load of aircraft.

^^^Arent these missiles fitted with a shaped charge warhead?
That will slice through the ship's structure as a blow torch..
