finding a balance is the key.
iran up to 500 million usd, rest pakistanWho is financing it.
using diplomacy to prove that they need energy or perhaps that they needed a deal like that of indo usa nuclear deal. and try to avoid or at least limit the sanctions.
@mehboobkz
In this situation it is Iran who is a villain and the culprit unlike Pakistan. And in this case diplomacy did not work vis a vis Iran who is under crippling sanctions with no mercy. it has no FOREX to import food. As for Pakistan and nuke deal, it was rejected by the US long ago. So what is left now for both nations? The main thing is financing and tech imports - and both are absent it seems.
Sanctions will hurt a lot less compared to an acute energy shortage. Without this gas, our factories cannot function properly thus crippling our economy. Thus, the benefits of this pipeline far outweigh the negatives of sanctions. Besides, Pakistan has plenty of options such as barter trade or trade denominated in Yuan or Rupees to bypass the sanctions. Energy is the blood flow of any modern economy, this pipeline is not just a want but a need.
I for one would fully support these sanctions. It would force our inept leaders to mobilize resources domestically and stop this wasteful spending. The foreign aid that we receive from the US is peanuts, not even a billion dollar annually. It would force us to rely more on our domestic resources more instead of the US subsidizing our inefficient economy and bribing our political leaders.

Baluchistan area from which pipeline is being laid is peaceful
