50% down time is for other operators---. Paf's maintenance & service would bring it at a much higher level of availability for a twin engine russian aircraft---.

that is true if russia provides the facilities..they didnt for the su30MKI mega deal for india, i doubt they will for us...because russia makes money on maintaince

It was not because of russia---. India procured parts manufactured by third parties---that is where the problem started---.

Hi if we can get j series Chinese twin engines with Chinese avionics etc
& involve Russian to supply us their latest engines for these jets with Chinese guarantees
For the supply of these engines then to some extent we might not have to have a costly
Bill for maintenance as Chinese are already maintaining these Russian engines at their hub

JF-17 firing flares after firing the missile as a standard procedure since when you fire missile at lower altitude enemy may fire back with you with MANPADS or shoulder fire anti air craft missile and in order to avoid it pilots trained to fire chaffs and flares whenever the fire at enemy at lower altitudes.

Normally an anti radiation missile---would be fired from a max distance---after launch the aircraft would not launch any flares---it does not want to announce its presence---.

If I could---I would rather have an anti radiation missile with a 100-150 miles range---that I can launch from a distance---.

These missiles are like Raptors---searching for prey to show its presence---they then lock on and smash into it.

As you want AD fighter jet then J-11D yes it more advance but more expensive to buy and maintain as compare to J-10C/D, and Block-3 nowhere near then J-10C/D but J-10B except the range, J-16 has same problem as J-11D JH-7A is relatively cheaper to J-16 @New World

J-10C/D cost 65 million per plane. JF-17 block 3 will be 95% in Performance with J-10C/D and will cost between 30 to 40 millions depend on the configuration. Almost 2 to 1 ratio, I rather have JF-17 than J-10.

If there was a way to give negative rating, I would have given negative rating for anyone suggesting Pakistan to buy JH-7A. First of all it’s an old design and it was rejected by PAF 10 years ago in favor of JF-17. I would rather have Used F-16 or used Mirage-2000 from France than buying JH-7A.
Pakistan must save money and focus on JF-17. Limited batch of JF-17 block 3 will be ready by the end of this years.
