i am not counting the cost assocated with training

will you give guarantee that america will not but sanction during war and spare parts will come as they are coming now?

FYI, Pakistan is far far ahead of South Africa in number of scientists and the type of research work going on.

True, SU-35 has a airframe life comparable with western aircraft. From the outside it might look similar to rest of the flanker family but basically it's a completely redesigned jet.

Don't know about convinced but PAF has it's hands full with it's self reliance projects. Personally will like it if they spend the funds on Project Azm or a SAM procurement instead of a platform like SU-35. Being Russian integration will be a big work load plus it will not be compatible with existing armaments.

Project Azm (unless its basically just a local J-31 production) will take until the middle of the next decade to mature. Su-35 could be here in 18 mothhs and wre can start retiring the Mirages and F-7.

The Su-35 and Su-30MKI family have the same 6000 hours of airframe life. The difference is in the engines, since the MKI uses older 2000 hour engines versus the Su-35's 4000 hours engines.

not going to dignify an answer. when you had to come to us for many of you basic requirements shall i say more and are still looking to us for other items.

So it would have been better that at that time zardari should have done some thing about

They developed the Cheetah, the Impalas and not to mention they have their own development flight test center.....they are way ahead of Pakistan at least in terms of aerospace in comparison. Know an ex-RSAF fighter pilot who flew with UAEAF as a Hawk 102 IP.....very interesting stories from that part of the world...

Did you know what happened to F-16s during Kargil war? Their availability reduced due to parts availability issue.

hence only used f-16 if they come at tag cheaper than jf-17 otherwise we are pretty much stuck with jf-17
