Reality check can be a mean b!tc#

What reality check? You Indians are trying to tell us that we are a superior race and that we have control over everything Pakistan does, provided Pakistan has money to buy!?

Your little man thinking shows through each and every post here.

The Mi-35 is in theory, the attack variant of Mi-17. The two helicopters share striking similarities and are simple to maintain like all Russian Defence Tech. I've seen the Mi-17 in action and it is a real workhorse, I'm sure the Mi-35 also got it's formidable reputation for a good reason. Though the pilots probably won't be too happy with the transition from a size zero beast (Cobra) to a flying ox with a machine gun (Mi-17). The helicopter is butt ugly but makes up for it with it's superior hit survivability and troop carrying capability. It's especially good LIC in FATA since the Mi-35 can fly a strafing pass to disperse the miscreants and then pick up stranded soldiers. Maybe this is what caught the PAF's eye, it would surely interest me.

Mi -35 are indeed a good choice and it's really good to see that our pakistani friends are praising russian stuff

ATAK team outlines progress of Turkey's T129 project, after first flight success
By Luca Peruzzi

Programme officials from the ATAK development team have provided further details of Turkey's T129 attack helicopter programme, as its first prototype has completed its debut flight.

Conducted at AgustaWestland's Vergiate facility in Italy on 28 September, the milestone event involved aircraft P1, the first of five prototypes to be produced under the Turkish Aerospace Industries-led programme.

Powered by LHTEC T800A-4 engines, the aircraft is one of three T129s to be built in a basic configuration, with the others to enter final assembly at Vergiate in March and July 2010, respectively.

Kits for the programme's two so-called Turkey Unique Configuration prototypes will be delivered to TAI in April and August 2010. These production-standard airframes will undergo assembly, integration, test and trials in Turkey.

Critical design reviews for both aircraft versions will be concluded in the second quarter of next year, and all five prototypes should fly by mid-2011. "The joint programme is on time, cost and scheduled programme achievements," says AgustaWestland chief executive Giuseppe Orsi.

Turkey has ordered 50 production T129s and has options on another 41. The aircraft will be equipped with Turkish-made systems including electronics, forward-looking infrared sensor, cockpit avionics and mission computer from Aselsan, and weapon systems from Roketsan.

TAI general director Muharrem Dortkasli says the first T129 ATAK will be handed over to the Turkish armed forces in the third quarter of 2013. Turkey will be responsible for international marketing and sales of the design, and industry sources say several countries are already evaluating the product, including Jordan and Pakistan.

The helicopter program is seen as one of the flagship projects for Turkey's flourishing defense industry, as it will involve not only the transfer of advanced technology, but also the integration of various domestically developed weapons and communications systems. Moreover, since Turkey's TAI will have the exclusive rights to market and sell the final product worldwide, the project is particularly attractive for Turkey. Through this and other ambitious national weapons programs, it aims to emerge as a major player in the global arms industry. Pakistan, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan have reportedly expressed their interest in purchasing the T-129 (Anadolu Ajansi, September 25). "

There is the new and much more expensive Mi-35M, which is infact a new helicopter, but then there is also the basic Mi-35P which is just Mi-24. Mi-35M is neither the export name actually, it is procured by Russian army itself under the same designation.

Alot of differences from the vanilla Mi-24/35.

New, more powerfull 2500VK engines (same as those on Mi-28)
New composite main rotor blades, x-shaped tail rotor (from Mi-28)
New shorter stub wings (from Mi-28 aswell)
23mm twin barell gun
The ability to carry 16 ATAKA anti-tank missiles, aswell Igla air-to-air missiles if necessary
Fixed landing gear
Modern avionics, improved counter-measures, cockpit with MFDs etc...
GOES-342
etc...

Azerbaijan has bought 36 Mi-35M for around $600 million. It is also being purchased by Russian Air Force, Brazile bought 12 and Venezuela 10.

Right now only one country which has biggest production line of attack and transport helicopter, is Russia. They are the only one who meet supply deadlines. Non country in the world can even come to close to production line of Russia. Russian are way ahead in Helicopter technology then any country. Russian has one stop shop for spare parts, rest helicopter manufacturer receive parts delivery from other countries, some countries even receive engines too. So, obviously every supplier meets its customer demand first then supply part to other independent manufacturers .
