Osama Bin Laden has been described as both "tender" and "kind" in a video released by the new head of al-Qaeda.

Ayman al-Zawahiri, who took over at the head of the network after Bin Laden was killed in Pakistan in May, said the former leader was a sensitive man.

The video, entitled Days with the Imam: Part One, lasts about 30 minutes. It has been posted on jihadist websites.

Zawahiri said he had created the video to show Bin Laden's "human side" and tell people about his great loyalty.

"People don't know that this man was tender, gentle, kind, with refined feelings, even when life was hard," Zawahiri says in the video, dressed in a white robe and turban and sitting in front of a green curtain.

"We never saw a man like him."

Tearful

Zawahiri, who met Bin Laden in Pakistan in the mid-1980s when both were supporting fighters battling Soviet forces in Afghanistan described his time spent with Bin Laden as an "honour".

He recalls how Bin Laden reacted when he received the news that some members of Zawahri's family had been killed. With tears in his eyes, Bin Laden came to see him and hugged him.

He adds that Bin Laden was devoted to his children, paying great attention to ensuring that they were well-educated, despite constantly moving from place to place.

"Everyone close to him saw the fine and noble education in his children," he said, adding that Bin Laden employed a teacher who would threaten to beat the children with a stick to teach them the Koran.

Bin Laden, he said, did not want those who carried out the September 11 attacks - which killed nearly 3,000 people - to be forgotten.

"The sheikh would remember with goodness and gratitude and be moved by the memory of the 19 brothers who attacked the idol of our age, America," Zawahiri said. "He would remember these brothers with extreme fidelity."

Once, when the pair were hiding in the Afghan mountains of Tora Bora, he said Bin Laden wrote death certificates for each one of the hijackers, fearing he would be killed "without remembering these heroic martyrs".

Analysts suggest that the fond memories of the terror group's former leader have been shared in part to try and boost his own popularity with al-Qaeda followers, by emphasising his closeness to the charismatic leader.

if this was kindness . i would dread to see his hatred.:D

Where was his kindness when he was planning to kill more than 3000 ppl on 11 Sep 2001... when their only crime was to go to work and put food in front of their family??

Dude you have to learn to separate work from your home life other wise stress will kill ya :woot:

I hope this video will shut those up who still shout that Osama is alive.

Only a selfish leader running a personal cause has different sets of reactions reserved for deaths involving his near and dear ones, and the deaths involving his unknown followers.

Zawahiri remembers Osama's tearful eyes at his relatives' deaths... but not at the deaths of numerous followers that blew themselves and others up for his cause?

"The sheikh would remember with goodness and gratitude and be moved by the memory of the 19 brothers who attacked the idol of our age, America," Zawahiri said. "He would remember these brothers with extreme fidelity."

How kind... :disagree:

Al-Qaeda’s terrorist ways proved long ago that they have no regard for humanity, and this could certainly be labeled as another failed attempt at brainwashing. They probably feel that they could succeed in pulling the cover, but they are forgetting that thousands, who lost families and friends on 9/11, will remember and feel the pain for the rest of their lives. That day haunts the memories of many, when Al-Qaeda terrorists blatantly murdered thousands of innocent citizens. The justice was finally served with the killing of the ruthless leader OBL, but his terrorist organization vowed to avenge his death. Al-Zawahiri, the current “commander in chief,” warned the US of more attacks in the future. We began witnessing a surge in attacks on Pakistani soil, and Al-Qaeda and their counterparts used OBL’s death as an excuse to carry forward their evil agenda and sent the nation of Pakistan into chaos and fear. Do they expect us to forget what they stand for? Do they expect us to forget that they are responsible for the killings of thousands? Do they still expect us to fall for their propaganda?

Al-Qaeda doesn’t just pose a threat to the US, and history proves that this terrorist organization is a threat to the rest of the world. The bombing of Al khobar towers in Saudi Arabia, the attack on the USS Cole in Yemen, and the Embassy bombings in Nairobi and Kenya are all attributed to Al-Qaeda’s terrorist activities. The fact is that the person heading the organization at the time of those attacks was the so called “tender” and “kind” leader, OBL. These terrorists are solely focused on achieving their evil agenda, and in the process, they are willing to harm and kill anyone! Our message is loud and clear: those who threaten the sovereignty of our nations and conspire to plot and kill innocent people of our nations will pay the price and be dealt with accordingly.

Words like Kindness and Human side do not fit in with Osama even by a long shot.

Only 1% of what he has done to your country. But the difference is, Indians are pissed off at just 1%, while you are  even at 100 times that.

At the moment it is your country engulfed in fire, and that man played a very big role in that. I am surprised why are you not pissed at him.
