Open Debate | Ideal direction of Pak-Afghan relations.

We should also be aware that Afghans are still in some kind of Bedouin mentality. Anger is the first thing they have whenever they start thinking. We should open up distant learning programs for them in our universities because we do not afford them to be physically present here. We should find some trade deals that are equivalent to barter trade and encourage them to get a mutual benefit. At the same time we should know how to imprison them if they do any immoral activity in our land. Afghans on the other side should develop cities near Pakistan border to make it a Populous border so that a spectrum of culture is created starting from red and orange colors of Indian Punjab to the greens of Pakistani Punjab to the violets and greys of our KPK and of more intensities further into Afghan land. A populous border is in every body's advantage because it promotes cultural thoughts to be propagated on both sides.

The first thing is that we only allow barter like trade with Afghanistan so that neither Afghans get exploited nor us and this will allow afghans to understand that it is give and take. We should also develop some kind of understanding in our KPK people that they have a role to play to develop and nourish their brothers in the west. and they have to adopt a social policy for Afghans.

Most of all we must have rule of law in our land. because external forces exploit corruption factor on our land.

First of all, you need to list the political and economic tools Pakistan has to force Kabul to change its direction. In my view, several things have to happen. Especially as result of the latest Trump threats and celebrations by Kabul.

1) Return each and every Afghani back to their country. There must be no second guessing this

2) Fence and mine the border.

3) Impose hefty fees on goods going to Afghanistan

4) Stop Afghanis from transiting through Pakistan. They must use other options. Almost all Afghanis in the West that conspire against Pakistan pass through your country. Why facilitate their conspiracy?

5) Cut diplomatic ties with Kabul.

If Pakistan even completely does one of these four options, I can assure you 1000% Kabul will come crawling begging for better ties. The reason these guys haven't backed off is simply due to the idiotic behavior by the Pakistani state to let them do anything without any penalty.

But your establishment will not do any of these logical steps because it's fundamentally dishonest with its people. They will continue the path of humiliation because of lame excuses

I somewhat agree with you but we can not isolate ourselves from Afghanistan. We do need to have strong foreign police toward them. I do believe clear message needs to be send to them to stop blaming Pakistan for everything. India is playing their cards correctly and they have great influence on Afghan media (TV,RAdio, social media)...many of the Afghan bloggers are actually Indians who are spreading hate against Pakistan.

1) We can not send every Afghani back....2nd and 3rd generation afghani will not go back, however, every Afghani living in Pakistan has to be accounted for, they need to be in database and special refugee ID should be issued to them. They must not have Pakistani NIC.
2) Border control: Fence the border, use technology to monitor the border, unmanned vehicles, cameras, motion detectors, UAVs, etc.
3) FATA should be integrated into KPK.
4) We need Afghani business. We must have strong trade with them.
5) Tranist charges for NATO or Afghan stuff passing through Pakistan.

A sealed and controlled border and closing of farari camps

Guys you need to understand in order to become a prosperous independent country you must de-link from Afghanistan completely.

What does de-link mean?

- Totally seal the border with strict visa controls

- Deport every Afghan refugee and review visa holders and decide if they stay based on value added (salary, job, skills etc)

- Not sure what is being taught in schools over there but a total blanket ban on Afghanistan being a topic. Afghanistan must be made invisible to the future generations. This applies in particular to KPK and FATA residents. This will take a lot more work but its imperative Afghan concept is removed from society then we can move forward.

We have already discussed political changed required in Afghanistan for relations to improve i.e. regime change in Kabul and annihilation of Northern Alliance-India nexus.

US presence is impossible to control but collapse the government in Kabul and US will have almighty egg on their faces and will leave in embarrassment.

SHADOWS, DEMONS AND FATE OF 250 MILLION:

At the end of the day it is all about people...
What defines a people? Their geography, defined or undefined borders, language, ethics or mores, history, culture, ethnic affinity or faith? I do not want to establish how and why Afghanistan and Pakistan enjoy a distinction which makes them there own civilization because many here will be able to connect historical, cultural, linguistic, ethnic, culinary and religious ties. Context is however everything, hence Shadows, Pakistanis will have to break their idols so to speak... (the areas overlap with Persian and Indian influences, cultural and linguistic) casting your own identity... being yourself in the sea of many and yet be accepting or tolerant of others... like neighbors. There is an urgency and it is a struggle for the soul, identity and place of 250 plus million people.

Pakistan/Afghanistan is looking at a boom in demography and it needs to be cultivated ... as I said context is everything... the time has come... history has presented this one time opportunity for this region. Every nation with ambition carved out its piece of the pie in human history... some continue to this day others crashed out. Question is what people here seek to do... will they become vassals or cheap labor for the rest of the world... The time is with people here Now and it seems tide as well... an untapped power with potential weighed down by Shadows and Demons... shadows of history and demons of now ... identify these shadows and demons and set yourself free... stop glorifying your inhibitors the demons inside and outside.

Shadows

The debilitating cultural engagement with India where Pakistan is a net cultural importer.
Shadows of colonial past and it's lingering legacies. Of being part of a certain colonial construct. Of mental inability to see through... of making these legacies sacred... of language, inhibiting development of local and laying ground work for native knowledge and reconstruction.

Demons

The outside forces that want to inhibit change for the better... those who will show up at the gates causing trouble should they see any improvement or breaking of shackles. Demons of inside who are ransacking local wealth. Who are drag down and circumvent prosperity and otherwise ascendency of this region...

World is vying for the soul of these youth who will become engines for either their growth or people here will recognize that their time has come. Stop glorifying and sanctifying these borders ... they are inhibitors, stop sanctifying a colonial construct for the future of your own self. No one, no one will come and take you there... all it needs is awareness and leadership. People who have vision and direction. Pakistan has an increasing population which have all the signs of becoming all that many resources for people outside Pakistan. Pakistanis have no idea how even smaller independent nations protect their culture, language and ethos militantly. Afghanistan for now is mere 35 million people... around 10-15 percent of them have either lived in Pakistan, cycled through or continue to live there... it is a huge territory and choke/access point for not only South Asia but eastern Africa, M.E. and towards the north same for Central Asia and China. Pakistan doesn't need an extension of FATA for that huge territory nor have either of China or India come and sit as equalizer. Do not let the naysayers dictate the outcome. Anyone who ever did something was with believers and only a small amount of them but achieved big things.

This demographic dividend hasn't produced or in the short while will produce any results... all that is needed now is direction, composure and vision. Pakistan needs to stand tall as an equal not an underling. These borders are a trap ... ones with comity of nations will pick and choose their fate and contain its fallout inside those fake and phony lines in the sand... those who don't follow these lines dictate terms and set their goals... question is, do Pakistanis have gumption?
