B Com (Honours) continued to be the most sought after course in Delhi University with the cut-off for admission into the programme remaining over 90 per cent in major colleges.

The first cut-off, which was released tonight, showed that the cut off for B Com (Hons) in Sri Ram College of Commerce ranges between 95.25 to 98.75 per cent followed by Kirorimal (94.25-98.25).
The cut-off for the course in Lady Sriram college is pegged at 95.25 per cent, while in Hansraj it is between 94.25 to 96.25.

In Hindu College, the cut off for the course is 94.75 to 97.75, while in Ramjas it is between 94.5 to 97.5. Ramjas has registered an increase of two per cent in comparison to last year.

The cut-offs in the major colleges have not increased substantially as feared by most of the applicants due to higher percentage of pass-outs in the CBSE and ICSE exams.

The first phase of the admission in the 60-odd affiliated colleges will start from tomorrow, the university authorities said.

The DU offers about 49,000 seats for its undergraduate programmes this year for which about 1.3 lakh students have applied.

Another popular programme in Delhi University is Economics (Hons) which registered the second highest cut-off for admissions.

In Sriram College of Commerce, the cut-off for BA (Hons) in Economics is 93.5 to 96.5, while it is pegged at 95.5 at LSR college.

Similarly the cut-offs for the course are 94.5 to 97.5 in Ramjas, 93.25 to 95.25 in Hansraj, 92.75 to 96.75 in Hindu and 90.5 to 94.5 in Kirorimal.

In Bcom (Pass), the cut-off is 93 to 97 per cent in Kirorimal, 93.5 to 96.5 in Ramjas.

For English (Hons), the cut-off is pegged at 91 per cent in LSR, followed by Ramjas (86.5 to 92), Kirorimal (83 to 91) and Hansraj (86 to 90).

In Science courses, Physics (Hons) has recored high cut-off remaining around 80 to 90 per cent in Miranda House, Kirorimal, Hindu, Kesav, Ramajas, Hansraj and Sri Venkteshwara.

Chemistry occupied the second slot in preference of course by students. The cut-off remained within 75 to 85 per cent in Hansraj, Hindu, Kirorimal and Ramjas.

The university also brought out separate cut-offs for OBC students. The University has about 10,000 seats for students in this category.
