Secondly about IPL being owned by private frenchises and nothing to do with GoI then mind you what happened to ICL? they were also owned by private frenchizes only or say Zee TV if there was no involvement of BCCI then why they had problem with ICL? why they wanted only IPL to exist and not ICL? The clear answer is IPL is not only the domestic tournament running by some frenchises/businessmen who are trying to make money but controlled by the BCCI who are directly or indirectly controlled by the GoI

Lol the IPL is growing at a massive rate and is an example to the world in how to structure a successful business model. Like it or not the IPL has changed cricket completely and will only get bigger and better. Its grand success in South Africa is a sheer example to its international appeal. The tournament also has played host to many of the best T20's played till now and also made an active attempt to give back to the community with many charity events attached to each match. Kudos to Lalit Modi for creating such an event, its truly amazing. He has put the BCCI on top of the world, becoming one the richest sporting bodies in the world.

First of all thanks to IPL and other Indians who made this happen because our greedy players needed this kind of slap for a looooong time.

Some people argue that this is an insult upon Pakistan, well I don't agree because Pakistani govt and its people were either against or not ineterested in IPL or the participation of Pakistani players in the IPL.

I would request the Pakistani members to calm down and take this as a blessing in disguise. First of all, Pakistani players will now be more hungry to win the T20 WC again and second, Pakistani players will be now more fresh and rested.

Your (or Preity's) argument does not fly given the above.

IPL is run by private business houses and they do not want to take any risks as the audience mostly is Indians nobody knows the stand of Pakistan/Indian govt especially after Mumbai attacks. Pakistan had refused to send its players for IPL2 as if the players play for Pakistan in IPL. GOI ministries worked for expediting visas for Pakistani players this time. If they cannot get auctioned is it GOI problem ? Can Pakistan govt./GOI guarantee refund to business owners of refund if Pakistani players are unavailable ? And why only Pakistani players felt hurt ? There are many good players from other countries who vouch to play in IPL. Remember its just a commercial cricket and not a birthright.

Agno it has nothing to do with politics..The teams are owned by Corporate houses and individuls..in the they will looking for profits and invest only on those who they will gain something..If the autioned a Pakistan player and he is not available for playing then the teams will suffer..its only business decision..take a look at the players autioned most of them are not in playing 11 of the respective countries they represent..

His record speaks for it. And every time he's injured or something happens he goes off the field for a few weeks n sometimes even months.

Therefore how can you justify the decisions made by the BCCI/IPL using that argument when there's a delibrate and visible double standard present? how can they select players most prone to injuries yet deny other most healthy players?

Its upto Franchise to decide who would definitely like to have match winners in their team as its their money which is at stake.

IPL is purely about money I understand the players who did not get selected will be hurt as they would lose quick bucks. IPL was success purely due to Indian middle class market it has little to do with quality of cricket.
