Agno it has nothing to do with politics..The teams are owned by Corporate houses and individuls..in the they will looking for profits and invest only on those who they will gain something..If the autioned a Pakistan player and he is not available for playing then the teams will suffer..its only business decision..take a look at the players autioned most of them are not in playing 11 of the respective countries they represent..

Please read the excerpt from CricInfo I posted.

It is about politics - the Pakistani players were cleared and included in the auction based on the IPL franchises insistence and shortlisting, and that apparently changed in a couple of weeks.

That these players were shortlisted and then ignored makes clear this is about politics. International tour schedules are available from the ICC, and none of the players is unfit, so the argument that 'we were concerned about availability' is bullocks.

Adding to seiko's post.. We need to remember its a commercial club event. Its not an international match between 2 national teams. Its a set of businessmen who have bought their teams and are having a tournament. If they dont want a set of people in their team for what ever reason(even if it is as stupid as saying Meri Marzi.) so be it

Its like you cant force David Dhawan to take a particular actor for his movie similarly you cant force the franchise owners to select or not select a particular player..

And adding to to my response to Seiko, a BS reason as pointed out in my past posts.

Come on Agno even players like Haddin and Sarwan were ignored by the teams and they concentrated mostly on first class players..What is this meant?just look at the players they bought?how many of them you know?

"Afridi's manager blamed the Indian government for continuing its long-running tensions with Pakistan.

"I'd heard prior to the auction that franchises were being advised not to bid for Pakistani players as the players from Pakistan would not be issued with visas by the Indian government, and that is precisely what has happened," Umar Khan told www.pakpassion.net."

The fact is that the excuses being provided by the IPL bosses don't match the alternate reality Indians want to create here. Availability conditions are the same now as they were before, the Pakistan Hockey team is touring is it not?

So if availability was a concern, then why short list these players and insist that they be included in the auction?

about heydon or sarwan they can be ignored since they are good ODI players but not Afridi who was born to play T20............ u can't reject the fact that Afridi is currently one of the best or i would say BEST T20 player in the World

Secondly about IPL being owned by private frenchises and nothing to do with GoI then mind you what happened to ICL? they were also owned by private frenchizes only or say Zee TV if there was no involvement of BCCI then why they had problem with ICL? why they wanted only IPL to exist and not ICL? The clear answer is IPL is not only the domestic tournament running by some frenchises/businessmen who are trying to make money but controlled by the BCCI who are directly or indirectly controlled by the GoI

c'mon dude.. Nahin liye.. so what.. How many times have we seen Mods on this forum saying that this is a pakistan defence forum and the privilage for indian members to share views is theirs to give.

Similarly IPL is an indian event, and the privilage to play is Franchise owners' and BCCI's to give.. and they decided not to give it this time around for their own reasons. They dont need to justify that to PCB or to anyone on this forum. They are giving a reason for not including pakistani players . If you dont believe it, so be it...

Afridi's manager can talk till the cows come home but that doesnt change or prove anything. Does it. It is what it is.. You can call it politics, racisim or whatever and we can differ all the way up the wazoo but thats the reality of the situation....

yes we dont need anything which is made in india after kind of attitude indians have to pakistan and ipl to pakistani players.

One note to the Mods.. The word Sold does not look very good in the title. Its a derogatory word in the context. Can we chage it to selected or something similar

dont worry time will come for them to seee banrupt their companies huge companies got died after financial crisis they willl toooo

Ban IPL from defence.pk as a protest............anything related to IPL..... news, scoreboards, discussions or anything strictly prohibted???

we will see how it goes in ipl4

Ok Agreed.. As if my agreeing or disagreeing changes the reasons or the result..

BTW agree from heart about Afridi..
