Nigeria: Jonathan Attends D-8Summit in Pakistan

President Goodluck Jonathan will today travel to Pakistan to attend a summit of the group of eight developing countries (D-8). A statement by presidential spo-kesman Reuben Abati said the president will hold bilateral talks with leaders of Pakistan, Malaysia, Turkey, Iran and Egypt during the summit.

The president will be accompanied on
the trip by Foreign Affairs Minister
Olugbenga Ashiru, Trade and
Investment Minister Olusegun Aganga and Central Bank Governor Sanusi Lamidoso Sanusi.

it will be a historic visit as it has been 28 yrs since a nigerian president visited pakistan.it may help boost relations
 
if pak wants to increase its exports it will have to find new markets for its products as the competition in some of the existing markets is getting tough .also we do majority of our trade with a handful of countries which is not a wise thing.nigeria is a rapidly developing country so oppurtunity is their ,we just need to adopt the right approach
