New Zealand offers to play in Pakistan

that was not a very good post Areesh,
Dubai i am saying is as mentioned in the news before that NZ has hinted to play series and........ possibly they will play at a neutral place due to obvious reasons i.e. Players are discomfort to tour Pakistan due to security reasons blah blah it is Zimbabwe willing to tour Pakistan

I would be more than happy to see NZ playing in Dubai and Zimbabwe and Bangladesh touring Pakistan in near future. Later on other teams too would/should have less objections after two tournaments are successfully held.

Touring NZ will be cherry on the cake but unfortunately the chances are very bleak IMO

But the news explicitly says that they have offered to play the match anywhere even in Pakistan.

New Zealand has offered to play cricket matches in Pakistan to raise funds for those affected by floods that have devastated the country, a Pakistan Cricket Board official said Sunday.
"We have received an e-mail from New Zealand Cricket in which they have said they are even willing to play in Pakistan to raise funds," PCB spokesman Nadeem Sarwar told The Associated Press. "It's (the tour) in a very early stage, but we think it's a very good gesture on the part of NZC."

So isn't it a responsibility for us to grab this opportunity immediately so that it can prove to be a revival of Cricket in Pak. It is obvious if NZ board has offered Pakistan to play anywhere even in Pakistan so they would surely pacify their players for security and other issues. On the hand it is also the duty of PCB to convince NZ players about security issue.

New Zealand has always been a hard nut to crack. They were always the first one to run away from Pakistan due to security fears. They ran away couple of years ago after the bomb blast outside their hotel, they cancelled future tournaments later, they had reservations about playing in Pakistan for World Cup 2011. They were always discomfort to play in Pakistan. Many times such agreements were signed to play cricket in Pakistan but eventually withheld after reservations from the players or the cricket board. I am very optimistic they will not disappoint us this time but the chances are still very narrow that they will tour Pakistan in near future. I would see the tournament being shifted to some neutral venue but at the moment it is very bleak to see it being held in Pakistan.

Or they will rest their senior players and send the reserve players/team only :)

Lets see what future is holding for us and i wish best of luck to both Pakistan and New Zealand and hope we get to see a series in Pakistan very soon. That will ease the way for future tournaments and will help revive the cricket in this war-torn country.

Lets hope for the best but i am yet to read players response if the offer is accepted by the PCB.

All i am hoping for now is

1) ICC World XI will tour Pakistan
2) Zimbabwe will tour Pakistan
3) Bangladesh will tour Pakistan

only then may be there will be a tri-series or just Pak vs NZ. At the moment our calender is packed with future tournaments and i am unable to figure out how will they play in the near future? We are playing against England that will continue for another 1 month or so. Later on we are expected to go to South Africa in October and November. One series can only be held in December as we will be busy playing World cup in February next year but that will mean they may have to disrupt other tournaments of ICC World XI, Bangladesh & Zimbabwe to accommodate New Zealand

Lets wish them best of luck and for now i take my words back

Good for Pakistan. Great gesture by NewZeland.

New Zealand have denied making any offer to tour Pakistan to help raise funds for victims of the floods that have devastated much of the country over the last month. A PCB official told Cricinfo on Sunday than an offer had been made by NZC to help out the PCB, possibly through a flood relief game.

"An offer has been made by New Zealand cricket to help with the devastation in Pakistan, maybe through a flood relief game," Nadeem Sarwar, the PCB media manager said. "It is at a very early stage just now but they have even said they would be willing to come to Pakistan if needed for that."

But Justin Vaughan, chief executive NZC, said that though he had sent an email, at no point did he suggest that New Zealand would be touring Pakistan, a move which would herald the return of international cricket to the country after the terror attacks on Sri Lanka in Lahore in March 2009.

Vaughan told NZPA that an email had been sent to the PCB suggesting that cricket had a part to play in helping alleviate the suffering "but certainly it should not be construed that the Black Caps would be going to play there.

"At no point did we offer that the Black Caps would be touring as they certainly won't be playing there this year. But it would be nice to think that in a cricket-loving country such as Pakistan that cricket could play a part in alleviating some of the suffering that is going on there."

The stance was backed by New Zealand Cricket Players' Association manager Heath Mills, who said that security concerns remain the biggest obstacle to any such idea. "[But] at this point in time there is no way anyone can consider putting a cricket team into Pakistan to play," Mills said. "There remain significant security concerns over the safety of players and a number of issues identified following the attack on the Sri Lankan players have yet to be resolved."

Mills added that the floods had diverted the attention of security forces "which is what you would expect but, if anything, the security risk will be greater now than at any other time so I don't see the Black Caps going to Pakistan in the short term. But if there are ways to help the people of Pakistan, the cricketing community should be doing everything to help."

Cricinfo does not usually endorse public donation efforts but the scale of devastation that the floods have caused in Pakistan constitutes exceptional circumstances. While we cannot take responsibility for any donations made, here are a couple of organisations you could consider if you are looking to help:

no they are not willing to play in pakistan might be in UAE is one option as we know NZ was the first team who did not want to play in pakistan in 2002 bombibgs it started all from there sir
