Yes I do. I wear a cap whenever I can.

Why is your stomach in knots ?

Covering the head is a given. Why else use the word head cover ?

In your world:

No, cap is not enough... That means women can wear cap instead of Burqa... You must wear Arabian scarft that Saudi kings wear!

In your world:

You know my world more than I do ? What if I live in space ?

No, cap is not enough... That means women can wear cap instead of Burqa...

Refer to the verse in this post . You want me to wear a Burka

You must wear Arabian scarft that Saudi kings wear!

I did wear it when I was in the gulf. I don't consider the Arab dress mandatory for a Muslim

Snap out of it, you're just making straw man arguments now :coffee: The hadith mentions men covering their head with a cap/topi like item during prayer and religious activities; other than that it's encouraged but not obliged.

Besides, a pagri would be more appropriate

Whatever... It's useless arguing against you guys... Have fun making your wives stay as housewives

Have fun making your wives stay as housewives

But I'm not marrieddd...

On a serious note, it's me that should say that to you. It seems like I can't make that brain of yours understand Covering Head =/= Being a housewife, lol.

Now you have problem with woman choosing to be housewives ?
BTW do you want to marry a female president of a country ?

Which site did you get it from? I got it from Quran.com

Sahih international (the translation closest to the arabic)

And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, their brothers' sons, their sisters' sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.

This ayat is for general situations for girls. There are different ayats concerning unsafe situations and specially for Prohet Mohammed's ladies. But this ayat is for ordinary women in safe neighborhoods. For older women who are past the age of marriage, there are different rules. Anyway this ayat is for girls and those who are in the marriage age:

- modesty of gaze

- cover private parts, chest

- Dress modestly, don't expose ornaments except to relatives (avoid exhibitionism).

All that is required ^

Religion should be your personnal choice.

IMO, if Pakistan want to develop itself & want to be a first world country, than womens have to work too. It is simply stupid that womens who are half of the total population sits at home, that means half population sitting at home & if women are educated they will raise the next generations more better.
Sir Islam is not a personal choice Sir Islam has complete economic political and social system their is no question of being only personal population and by the way few years ago survey was done in western world and majority women didn't wanted to work

Interestingly.. those universal guidelines.. if read in arabic and understood by one self without the presumption of being "archaic" in the interpretation.. do reveal themselves in the principles of the profession of the reader.
This would entitle knowing Arabic or precisely Arabic from the times of the prophet.

At the same time though.. It is still a spiritual book.. trying to prove it scientifically may lead to dead ends since Science is all growing. The principles of research should not be to stop research based on what is understood then by the verses..
or to try and prove the verses..
The principles should be to use scientific methods to discover and research.. and this includes the theory of evolution and string theory.
And not try to mix up the two thinking that one contradicts the other.. so one must be wrong.
science makes new discoveries everyday that make the old redundant..
And people reach new levels of spiritual understanding that change perceptions everyday.

There are always moments when I have ended up saying "hey.. the both are talking about the same thing.. who'da thunk it?".

If you have had the misfortune of encountering such ladies and their wealthy followers..
this intolerance is precisely what they promote.
Sir if you want to prove them wrong prove them wrong through Quran and Sunnah but not your personal opinion because Muslim has to see what Quran and Sunnah says about any issue

Mr women whole body has to be covered except for the eyes and hands and feet so how can a cap cover that ?

M
It's an Arab tradition nothing written in Quran about women walking around like ninjas
Mr this shows your complete lack of Knowledge Mr women before Islam used to walk naked and many who were of respectable families like Banu Hashim even they covered themselves but not their hair or face and even wore half sleeves that is why HAZRAT UMAR RA used to come to HAZRAT MUHAMMAD SAW and request her to order women to cover their bodies but he didn't gave orders until when ALLAH made it farz in the Quran

when i was 4 yrs old our family was in hyderabad. it was very common to see women walking in full black butka fully covered.
Someone had told me they are ghosts and will catch you and every time i used to see them i remember running back home feeling scared, until my mom told me that was no the case. funny when i think about it.

INSHALLAH very soon our society will be fully ISLAMIC. MASHALLAH feeling good to hear that.

How are employees of the bank being termed as "well off women"?

What will they do when they are taught at school to think through Islam? Or refer to Quran when in doubt. Although I agree its their personal choice. But I hope they would treat someone who wants to wear a bikini the same way, 'as her personal choice'.[/FONT]

with due respect
there is huge even I would like to say uncompareable difference between bikini and scarf. I knw ppl relates scarf with muslim culture but tell me if women are covering theirself instead of exposing is that bad act?
I dnt think anybody will ever feel embarassment or shame to have a sister who like to wear scarf than bikini.
In pakistan, women has rights to wear jeans, qameez shalwar, sarhi, scarf, abaya and so on, isn't it enough?
If we dnt like to see our women competely exposed then wats wrong in that?

most of the Pakistani like it or not but except bikini most of our models and elite class are wearing wat ever they want. how much more freedom do u expect?

Well, In Bangladesh ten years ago.. Majority of people were moderate muslims... Very less head scarf but they were muslims, they followed at least some islamic values in their everyday life... Now a days i feel, half of them have become secular or atheist following no islam at all and half of them become conservative Muslim..... I think everywhere in the muslim world this polarization is happening... Another example , years ago everyone in Bangladesh used to say Khuda Hafiz... Now it is rare. Only Allah Hafiz is heard now a days as Khuda is not an Arabic word.
