A mistake we apologized for and paid compensation for...
" In August, the U.S. government made a "voluntary humanitarian payment" of $4.5 million to the families of the three Chinese nationals who were killed and to the 27 injured in the bombing.[13] On December 16, 1999, the two governments reached a settlement under which the United States agreed to pay $28 million in compensation for damage to the Chinese Embassy facility, and China agreed to pay $2.87 million in compensation for damage inflicted to the U.S. Embassy and other diplomatic facilities in China.".
Well yes, of course. Our countries have been in a state of war since November 4, 1979. We have NO formal diplomatic relations since your act of war against us and your government's repeated calls for my country's destruction.
No, and neither does your own source, which states NOTHING about any American invasion.
Yes, I get that we have been in a state of war since your government attacked our embassy. Yes, we shot down IA flight 655 while we were actively engaged in a naval battle with Iran's navy, (Again, we were at war!)...
"the United States recognized the aerial incident of 3 July 1988 as a terrible human tragedy and expressed deep regret over the loss of lives caused by the incident...".[15]As part of the settlement, the United States did not admit legal liability but agreed to pay on an ex gratia basis US$61.8 million, amounting to $213,103.45 per passenger, in compensation to the families of the Iranian victims."
And again, we didn't "lend" Saddam Hussein our navy as we were actively and directly engaged in combat with your country that had been in a continual state of war with us since 1979.
It's nice to see that you justify all your actions by one phrase "we have been in a state of war" .. but remember it all started back in 1953 not in 1979 ...
But past is past and we should look forward ...
