Need suggestion for a roof top based Solar water heater!!

Thanks, I will install one 100 ltr (evacuated) on trial basis. Presently the company has asked me to install a sintex water tank at near by place at minimum 6'-0" more than the solar heater tank. My kitchen consume 30000/- of wood, 20000/- of gas and 10000/- of coal per month. If this will reduce at least wood portion of fuel, then I will install further 200 ltr capacity.
so your kitchen consuming 60000/- of fuel? am not sure how 100 lit solar water heater will help you to reduce the bill... can you please tell me. your needs, what will you cook in kitchen, how kuch fuel your kitchen consuming for water heating? especially your building area in sq Mt.. so I can suggest you better system to cut the bill..

Are you operating a takeway ?

I own a residential college for 11th and 12th standard students and my student strength is 400.

Its breakfast, lunch, tiffin and dinner for 430 persons daily

See, the menu is as follows : Usually breakfast consists of Puri/Idli/Upma/Vada (any one) plus sambar/curry (any one). Lunch consists of Dal, Rice and a curry and a fried type item or a type of chutni. Tiffin consists of Boiled channa with some garnishing/Golcuppa/besan pakoda/milk and bisciut (any one). Dinner : Dal any one type of sabzi.

Now for any type of deep fry we have to use Gas Chullah, for Roti we use coal. The wood is used mainly for Dal, Rice and any type of boiling i.e Potato. So I think if we use hot water then I will use less fuel for taking the water from 70 degree to 100 degree than from 25 degree (normal water temp) to 100 degree. I will see how much I can reduce the consumption of wood, then I will increase the capacity depending on requirement.

I don't know how much solar water heater helps you cut the fuel cost.. but you can look into systems like this along with solar water heaters... if you have enough space on roof, you can look into off grid system, which helps you cut the power bill, if you are interested to convert you kitchen into induction.. it will surely help you... go for hybrid systems to cut the bill.. although installation cost higher but it will saves your pocket in long run..

Usually in India solar irradiation is between 4.5 - 7kwh... if you install panels instead of heater... life time is 25 yrs for tire 1 panels... with 10% depletion every decade... make sure you are investing in right product..

Nope bro,I guess you have to custom design a solar cooker for that big amount(50kg),you don't need to buy those pylons .You can make them your own.I hope you have constant sunshine in your place, if not the solar cooker idea won't work.
