@qamar1990, why would your country be against your religion?(if you are muslim pakistani)... if you are non muslim pakistani, you got a point, but thats precisely why all pakistanis should put nation before religion.
why, nepal is a hindu majority country, they feel no need to join India..i was just saying, my country was created for my religion , but i was just saying if my country ever tries to separate islam from pakistan then i say we might as ell just join india.
No! he wasn't. If you read some other Freedom fighter's books who worked with him. It was always mentioned that in early phase of joining HRA (Hindustan Republican Association) which later on changed to HSRA (Hindustan Socialist Republican Association) he was a religious person following all principles of Sikhism. It was later when he realized that dream of independence needs disguise then he sacrificed religious belief and principles.

if you have separate identity and want to maintain it, why would you join India... ?

Pre-islamic Arabia followed the much less accurate pagan lunar calender and muslims do the same today with exact same months.
Ramadan was considered holy in pagan Arabia and so it is under Islam. Hajj, Umraah, five prayers a day, devil stoning, and sacrifice are another set of pagan traditions continued under Islam.
Islam was a huge reform for backward pagan Arabs who worshiped stones and idols, for rest of the mankind it was a step backward.
Some research and critical thinking can help open up your mind unless you want to reject knowledge and continue to live in your cave..Google and youtube pagan beliefs and compare them yourself.

I'd chose nationalism over religion if I had to
I can ask the same thing brother- but why would you put your god (Belief) over your duty to your country (whose existence we are 100% sure of).I don't really understand this - and I'm not trying to offend - but why would you put your nation over your duty to God?
Won't nationalism be redundant under a religious state?
Lets give an example of Pakistan. Most people are Muslim. If people stopped being nationalistic and were more religious they would still support Pakistan (since its a Muslim state) but with an added factor of Godwariness (and hence treating others well), being upright in character, giving much charity, etc?
It is narrated by Abu Da'wud that the Messenger of Allah (saaw) said,
"He is not one us who calls for nationalism, or who fights for nationalism or who dies for nationalism."
