Can the pessimism, guys. It's an original venture and a bold artistic expression in it self (being an artist myself). Let's respect it, at least and wait for the end product.

What kind of things would a Pakistani super-hero stand for ? What would he or she be opposed to?

Will he have a beard? Will she be a hijabi?

what kind of super power will this super hero have?

These would be very good questions to answer when we see the film. Cultures have always tried to synthesis identities, philosophies and ideologies in their literature and arts; sadly for us Pakistanis art's taken a back seat, especially the new urban inspired art, however, this is a wonderful move and let's see how the writers tackle these questions that irk every young Pakistani more than their older predecessors.

Check out his Sword and Sheild :D

The weapo nry used in most stories (along with most of everything else) has a symbolic epistemological value, sir. It's suppose to symbolise a part of or an entire cultural artifcat. For example, the arrow used by Khrishna (if I'm not mistaken) has been interpreted as symbolising the reach of justice or the enimating properties of light (shines away from source). Similarly, Batman's traditional black cape has been interpreted as the expression of the Jungian architype of the Shadow. Similarly, the writer/illustrators of this story consciously/unconsciously have symbolised something important in the sowrd and shield. The sword can be a symbol of strenght and steadfastness (though a proper analysis of the story narrative is needed to substantiate) and the shield a will to adhere to one's principles (recall Captiain America using the Shield as his primary weapon in the Marvel universe, he was concieved during the WW II and the sheild represented/s an important cultural artifact for the American public).

It is unwise to study stories solely on logic; their premise and thus their analysis is based differently. Joseph Cambell's book are a very good source to start if you are interesed in the philosophical importance and the epistemological value of literature and arts.

Always it seems our measure of ourselves has to be not good and bad, not right and wrong, but what some foreigners think - Aap apne saath insaf kar ye aur dekheye dusaray bhe aap se insaaf karengay - it's a universal law

Friends, it's now necessary to be courageous, to make OUR way, to formulate RIGHT and wrong, Good and bad - see, there's no other option that is acceptable

Is the super hero some beard who thinks that murdering his co-religionists is a religious obligation?? Could you identify with such a conception?? Could a Pakistani super hero really be a mortal enemy of the Hindu, Jew and Buddhist and Daoist and Christian? Could a Pakistani super hero really suppress and oppress women and girls? Could a Pakistani super hero really be involved with blowing up schools? And could a Pakistani super hero really ever end up denying the humanity of all persons and the brotherhood and sisterhood of all mankind?? Will He or she have reams of Hadith to batter bad guys with??

I do hope this individual will not just be a crime fighter, but an ethical and moral example.

as the article points out its inspired from american comics. but my life was saved by japanese manga. pakistanis actually have a very original source of this philosophy which off shot these superhero ideas : Iqbal, the islamic Nietzsche
