P.S. @p(-)0ENiX, where have you been for such a long time? :what:

I have been busy preparing for GMAT, in fact my preparations are likely to continue for the foreseeable future. That takes up way too much time to actually have a discussion on some serious topic on the forum.

Apart from that, I am learning the Martial Arts; Kick Boxing to be precise. :D

Thai kick boxing?

Thai kick boxing?

Are you referring to Muay Thai? Kick Boxing is actually developed from close combat Karate, Muay Thai, & Western Boxing.

I liked Taekwondo as well, one senior Martial Arts student even told me to consider MMA (Mixed Martial Arts), but I am not too sure about that at the moment.

Taekwondo is nice...My friend used to practice it while I only did Judo...Another friend does mixed...

Muay Thai never actually caught my attention...Not even sure whats it really like...I mean I have seen Taekwando, Silat (of Malaysia), Judo and Hapkido (However you spell that) as well as Kendo and wanted to try fencing but ended up with archery which was just as fun :P

All forms of Martial Arts are excellent from what I have gathered, the most important thing is the ability & competence of the fighter.

I don't know too much about Judo, but I thought it was more focused on grappling your opponent similar to Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, am I correct?

Ooo..why not try Kung Fu...I always wanted to try it but there was no center nearby my place which would teach it..

Kindo of...I just wanted to join martial arts and the closest we had was judo so I just enrolled and told my parents that the school said that 1 extracurricular activity was compulsory and then said i got Judo :P

Well, after few months my parents bailed me out coz they were afraid I would break a bone or two...and then I ended up with Chinese and finally Chess club :what:

They do teach Kung Fu at my gym, but I have never actually witnessed a Kung Fu class in real life.

The only stuff I have witnessed is on tv...esp those dramas where the people fly across mountains :P

That was probably the only reason I sooo badly wanted to enroll in to martial arts...at the age of 10 you can tell anyone that it is possible to fly and actually glow with different powers :P

Next I wanna learn to ride a horse!! Anyone knows where it is thought cheap? My last uni had a riders club and they charged £25 per lesson...isnt much but it is terribly expensive when you have to find a transport to and for and also esp if you are a student :(

Lol! I might be mistaken, but I don't know how useful Judo is in real life. I think a couple of basic grappling techniques are present in all Martial Arts.

Risk of injury is what deterred my parents from letting me learn Martial Arts when I was younger as well. In some ways, I guess it was a good thing. I got to focus on other things like studies, video games, & girls.

I have seen Kung Fu movies, they are cool, but lets face it, they are only movies. Taekwondo for instance has some amazing kicks, but many of them are only for demonstrative purposes, & are pretty much pointless in real life.

Yeah, once you learn how to ride a horse, you could use it as an eco-friendly alternative to a car.

You might want to check out Aikido as well. I learnt & practiced a few moves in it for fun some time back, I never got to try them out in a real fight though. The moves involve disarming armed opponents along with some of the more advanced stuff like breaking an arm, which sounds awesome in theory, but is ridiculously painful during practice.
