I think our media needs work, we need to chill out with the tacky bright headlines, make it look more professional and have it in English too. That will help Pakistanis abroad understand situation better and have them more involved, informed and connected to Pakistan.

Its a bit silly but, If the Indian 166 Field Regiment was really the target in Nagrota, then its a coincidence that Gen Raheel Shareef (as well as Maj Shabbir Shareef) hail from Pakistani 6 Frontier Force Regiment which faced Indian 166 Field Regiment in 1971 battle and the battle resulted in Martyrdom of Maj Shabbir Shareef.

Yes true. Independent thinking is indeed a double edged sword for a society and a nation by large. At one side there cant be Pied Piper moment with a nation that knows how to question however on the other hand very difficult to be lead to actually anywhere. Compromise I think lies between a noisy and disorganised crowd and a lynch mob. Unfortunately in Pakistan we are short of followers and conformists.
I believe generally a person is born with a set of skills suited well for few roles. Societies function smoothly when people conform to those roles and get rewarded on basis of equity, where a leader is no more important than a person grinding away in dull drudgery. Where being a leader only lets you to lead not trample those you lead as a sign of superiority. A right mix of Meritocracy, Socialism and Democracy.

Every country has their share of "Gods" for people and patrons for the media. Take an example of US, recently a God has been elected for president and Newyork times and Washignton post have their own patrons and sponsers. There is always a bigger agenda than just comercialisation of media. and we all know every media house just caters to its viewers following its agenda.

But when you said, your media is independent its only ne or two print media that has become a spot for attention offlate. Albeit accused of supporting somebody's agenda (you know what I am referring to).

Everybody has agenda and media is always like that, be it Pakistan or India or US.
