There are heavenly places! Have u been this lake before?
I like the Chinese saying, 读万卷书不如行万里路(One can learn more by travelling ten thousand miles than by reading ten thousand books. I like this saying cause I didn't read as much as @Nihonjin1051 .:p:
yes, they are trips i took and that's why i recommend it to you.:agree:

agree with you on the merits of travelling, always feel how small i am in front of the power of nature and the unknown of universe during travels like above, that's truly something beyond the words and theories we read .... well i'm interested in the people too, culture & history (and food!) stuff kind of my soft spot, hehehe.

@Nihonjin1051 on the other hand is truly the thinker here. ;). i think he can pass as an overseas Cantonese in Guangzhou easily without raising any suspicion.:) (agree? @Nihonjin1051 )

I've been there. pls wait when i post my 2013 silk road adventure
done the silk road before, but it's long time ago, looking forward to your new pics.:smitten:

Agree. @Nihonjin1051
He is a total sinologist, and well much better than those so-called one.
I admire his exquisite mind. More Nihonjin1,2,3,.....1050,1051,1052 will lead to peaceful East Asia.:-)

And thanks again for your tips on Northeastern China. You have excellent English skills among your peers and thanks for joining our sino-indo friendship QQ chatting group.

Yes ,from JIayuguan, the ending of Great Wall of Gansu Province to Kanasa, northern Xinjiang.

To be quite honest, I truly cherish and enjoy the high quality information from a number of Chinese members here: @Chinese-Dragon , @Yizhi , @Shotgunner51 , @xudeen , @AndrewJin , @birdy , @hans , @cnleio , @Genesis , @TaiShang , @tonyget (there are many more, sorry if i forgot to tag!). This is the reason why i keep on coming back to PDF as I love interacting / learning from the genuine Chinese posters here.

:)
Yeah, that is why reddit /r/China is such a joke.

ha ha ha, true, i guess. man, thanks for reminding me how old i am...:(:lol:
i did try ICQ years and years ago, a reminder of past history. Do you use chinese QQ? Then u can join our qq chatting platform.

For the old town of Lijiang, since I was too lazy to climb up to the lookout for a panorama of Lijiang, you can find some great galleries in Wikipedia Old Town of Lijiang - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

One day excursion from Lijiang City to the first band of Yangtze and a short section of the world-famous Tiger Leaping Gorge Hiking in 2013.
屏幕快照 2015-03-01 18.39.02.png

The first giant bend of Yangtze River, several thousand miles from the estuary in Shanghai. Summer flood made it not so picturesque as blue and green water in winter.

Tiger Leaping Gorge
one of the most famous and exciting hiking trail in Yunnan, a total 2-day route

Just walked the most interesting section, from the village road to the riverside of Yangtze. From the riverside to the highest point of Haba Snowy Mountain and Jade Dragon Snowy Mountain which clamp the Yangtze in the middle, the vertical distance is about 3800 metre.

I still use it , lol.

But ys it was the most popular tool back in the day (high school and college days), in fact some of my really good friends from China , i was able to first know them through ICQ. Then we met up multiple times when i visited China , some of whom are now working here in the 'states. Small world --- vis-a-vis ICQ! ;) ;)

Spicy you say? I'll try one bite, if its too hot, i'll stop, if its okay, i'll finish it :)

So its spicier than Sichuanese ? :woot:

These are one of the minorities in Yunnan right? Their attire looks somewhat familiar with the Hmong people.
