Muslims may lose Mecca if they fail to hold on to Jerusalem – Erdogan

How do you suggest we Muslims including Iran should deal with this issue. Statements we have seen, OIC gave verdict but no one is happy. What options Muslims have (Practical once) considering all Diplomatic and geopolitical/geographic situations / relations in mind.

Jerusalem does not belong to Muslims. Most of it belongs to Israel; some, maybe, someday, to a Palestinian State. Mecca does not belong to Muslims. It belongs to the nation state Saudi Arabia. If the Saudia Arabian people were to convert to Christianity, or the Bahaii faith, or to Hinduism, then "Muslims" may "lose" Mecca. If so, tough. The only territory that belongs to a "Church" or a Mosque" is the Vatican City. And that is true only because of the sufferance of the nation state Italy.

Fair enough. One look at history of warfare is enough to understand that land changes hands all the time. At the end of the day what really determines what "belongs" to whom is brute force. If you are strong enough to conquer a city and hold on to it, then it belongs to you. When someone even stronger comes along and takes it over, it belongs to them. Simple as that.

RIYADH: Palestinians have the right to Israeli-annexed east Jerusalem as their capital, Saudi King Salman said Wednesday, echoing calls at an Islamic summit in Istanbul from which he had stayed away.

ALLAH does what he wishes and we can't comprehend HIS wisdom. As for Mecca, you have to read a bit of history mate. Mecca was captured by Qaramta of Bahrain in 10th century, Masjid al haram was plundered, they filled zamzam with corpses and they took away Hijr e Aswad and it remained with them for 20 years. Some hardliner Sunnis call Qaramta Shia, and they actually called themselves that too, but the fact is majority of Shia in fact all of mainstream Shia school of thoughts consider them apostates. Something similar to Khawarij who were once Sunnis.

Abbasid caliphate of the time could not militarily wrestle it back and the Fatimid caliphate of Egypt had to negotiate and Abbasids bribed the Qaramta to give Hijr e Aswad back. So don't be overly confident about holding Mecca forever, it stays safe until ALLAH wishes it to be, if He wants to punish us, humiliate us a city no matter how holy it is will not matter.

Prophet Mohammad (Peace be Upon him said) “Nations are about to unite (and call) each other to set upon you, just as diners are invited to a plate of food.” It was said: “Will it be because of our lack of numbers that day (i.e. will be be small in number)?” He صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Rather, you will be many on that day, but you will be like scum foam (that floats) on the river. Allaah will remove the fear of you from the hearts of your enemies and put Wahn into your hearts.” It was said: “O Messenger of Allaah, what is Wahn?” He صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Love for the dunya and hatred for death.”
