Why it was a sudden hike in dollar prices after musharraf's era? why PPP government wasn't able to hold it to Rs. 60?

Musharraf always claims that there was no harmful inflation during his time. But there ws a rapid hike in prices of almost every commodity after his regime. How and why?

They weren't good times but great times. If Musharraf even lasted for at least 5 more years, you would have seen the change.

But Pakistan is a na shukri qom. Even AQ Khan admitted that.

i wont answer your post directly, but the fact that when Pakistan aligned itself on GWOT -- a lot of the debt Pakistan owed was written off/forgiven or rescheduled and this helped the economy tremendously

debt servicing is still a huge burden on the country; we weren't taking loans from IMF --nobody takes IMF loan without grudge because of the harsh conditions they impose on the countries taking aid

as for price hikes, those were often caused by the producers themselves.....artificial shortages, as well as herding staple and other foods to Afghanistan and other countries for a quick buck

dishonesty and corruption lead to such ills in society --and they affect the common man before they affect anyone else

Very nicely said. Pakistani people are very unthankful and because of this there are parties and people like Zardari(PPP), Nawaz Sharif(PML-N), Altaf Hussain(MQM) and ANP (all are US puppets)as long as these type of people and parties are there Pakistan's future will always be dark. I hope that something very good happens in the future of Pakistan.

Gen. Musharraf was great but he made mistakes because of which Pakistan is suffering today. He should have punished Nawaz Sharif when he took over Pakistan and he should have never had signed NRO.

I hope that Pak army takes over ASAP, do good things and no mistakes are made again. Specially US should be kicked out of Pakistan for EVER & for good NO TO USA.

i think this post was in relation to economics, not politics.
of course, there was a large amount of inward remittance due to our involvement in WOT. But where did that money go?
If he was so good, why did he allowed such corrupt and mass murderers to find such an easy path to ruin the country?

It was because of the the economic depression around the world. I remember the days before PPP took over prices were already rising, and had already risen to a very high level. Quite a few of my friends were short on cash those days. Musharraf didn't.

I should add that it was Musharraf who let MQM run around Karachi killing civilians, even those in Ambulances which is a crime at in Pakistan and at the international level, He locked up the cheif justice do you remember that. Under Musharraf people were losing hope, do you not remember? Media outlets were closed down from time to time. This is the very Musharraf who let the Taliban get stronger after the Afghan invasion. Same person who threatened to give away our nuclear scientists and actually did sell one for $2000 (Afia Siddiqui). She went to MIT it would have given the Pakistani a lot more opportunities in the nuclear field.​

Yep that time MQM has control over karachi, and now it doesnt has, thats why karachi stock market fall from 16000 to 8000 after MQM losing control of law and order agensies of karachi, and crime rate also increased, just see the number of people died during Musharraf's era and zardari's era, and you would b surprised to see that rate is increased by 10 fold!
