There is allot of weird customs in India.... however, I was watching this doco on India a while ago from Al Jazeera, it predicted that majority of India was to be Muslim in the coming century, which is good news for mankind because India would cleanse it self from these "weird" customs.

ironic, since maharashtra was under Bahamind Afghans for 500 years. ( @Mian Babban can confirm. ) i am not even counting various Empires of Delhi who ruled whole Deccan such as Khaljis.

it was Rajput rebellion, PAshtun rebellion and Bhatts Brahmins from North who made "Maratha" empire. remove these guys and Aurangzeb will again become god king of Maharashta.

parts of saurashtra were under Babi Afghan Rule (junagadh) as well and Arabs were able to destroy cities of Saurashtra when they invaded Rajasthan. thankfully local kshatriya chifs quickly followed their army and fought against invaders by allying with Rashtrakutas in Central Gujarat and Rathores in Malva.

all fought against jihadi Armies of Central Asian from Dogras of Jammu to Sikhs of Punjab, from Rajputs of Rajasthan to Kathis and Rajputs of Saurashtra. these warriors protected our entire North West Belt from Invaders. one of the main reason rajputs are widely respected in our lands.

we (people of kathiyawar) still give respect to our warriors regardless of their Caste origins such as Ahirs,Rajputs, Kathis,Brahmins,Charans,Bharvads who fought against various invaders to protect our land and culture. even british were not able to Annex our lands into their might empire. (my state was under Jadeja Rule since last 450 years, we were never under direct british rule).

these warriors are the reason we are living in our own lands and not wondering around as refugees since 750's. you should be grateful too as your refugee community was allowed to live in our own land after you guys ran away from Arabs.


bottom line is : whole south Asia was under boots of Central Asian tribes for 100s of years. maybe only assam was not part of any muslim empire.

Alexander defeated porous in the battle of hydaspes and annexed hydaspes which is mostly modern day Punjab. He allowed porous to be the governor of hydaspes bcz he liked his tactics and bravery and was impressed of his stature.

Yes the battle of hydaspes was indeed a very great battle where Alexander suffered losses but it was no doubt his victory. What that battle did do was exhaust his army completely who had
